Okay, https://t.co/2n2UUdGxIX is now a thing.
Really happy with the @laravel cloud domain π
Still a few things I want to do, but I thought it would be better to get it out there instead of letting it gather dust.
Extremely excited to announce that I'm (finally) joining the @laravel team!
Today is my first day as the VP of Marketing and Community. I love this community and I couldn't be more excited to join the team.
This is the era of builders, and Laravel is the best way to build.
@MrPunyapal This is how I pay less than a $1 for Laravel Badge. But I actually let the badges invalidate every 24 hours or so, so that we shows changes. With a document website you don't have to care.
@MrPunyapal Honestly you don't even need it with Cloudflare's edge network in play. Just set headers on the pages to be cached until a deployment change.
You'll pay like nothing between deployments and probably only a couple cents when the cache is invalidated at deployment.
What technology/language/framework would you never touch before AI but now would consider giving it ago?
For me, Wordpress π¬
It's always been a nightmare because the cognitive load to debug through all that code just seemed stressful and not worth the trouble.
@GrahamJCampbell@shanejones I can't see a future where people don't find a way to fiddle the value as well. When this much money is in play, there will be some form of work around I bet.
@PolitlcsUK Has me asking, with a potential Β£9k stamp duty bill coming up. Should I just sack that off now.
Seems a great announcement to totally wreck the market
I think generally the problem is learning the code isn't that valuable.
Learning the high level technologies is.
People still need to understand what HTTP and what HTML is. They just don't need to know how to write all of it.
We're all going to be high level workers. The engineering challenges don't go away. They just become more complex.
My wife has an old school friend hoping to switch careers. She just completed an HTML book and video course and is excited to launch a business building websites freelance.
...It's hard for me to say "Good for her" while secretly thinking to myself, "You'll never make a dollar."
@GrahamJCampbell Honestly not surprised. I'm sure Digital Games didn't help but they equally didn't help themselves a lot. I'm sure someone will bail out the brand to be reused.
