Yesterday, PRT held the first of two public hearings for the final proposed Bus Line Refresh network.

PRT is aware of an issue affecting rail service information being displayed in the Transit app, Google Maps, and TrueTime. Bus information is not affected. Our teams are actively working to identify and resolve the issue.

We will provide an update once the issue has been fully resolved.

In the meantime, riders who need trip planning assistant for using our rail service should contact PRT Customer Service at 412-442-2000 or @PghTransitCare

The red bus lanes are here! These lanes separate buses from regular vehicles, preventing their frequent stops from slowing down traffic and improving reliability for those using our service.

PRT has begun preparing the Panhandle Bridge for major rehabilitation beginning in 2027.

Crews are currently installing containment around the bridge in preparation for painting, electrical, and concrete substructure work. This initial work will not affect light rail service.

The rail yard has reopened but all rail cars remain 30+ minutes behind schedule. We anticipate getting back to regular schedule by about 8pm

There is a derailment in the rail yard at South Hills Village, meaning no rail cars are able to get in or out of the rail center. About 1/4 of the cars we need for rush hour service are in the system. If you have a bus route available we encourage you to utilize it. Delays are expected.

Update: One axle of a rail car derailed from the tracks. Delays will remain in effect for a couple hours. We have crews heading to the scene to put the car back on the tracks and inspect the rail.

The Silver Line is back in service

The Silver Line has been suspended between Washington Junction and Library station due to a power outage.
A bus shuttle will run from Washington Junction to Lytle Station, and rail shuttle will run from Lytle Station to Library Station. Delays can be expected while our crews work on repairs.
