America is at a crossroads. Here’s what my campaign is all about —

America is at a crossroads. As we watch the turmoil in Iran, in the Middle East, here in America, and throughout the world, it is clear that this is a pivotal time.

Closer to home, here in CD3, we are dealing with the negative effects of inflation, gas prices, home prices, illegal immigration, an ever-encroaching federal government into our lives, and the list goes on. Sometimes it feels like our representatives are more in tune with Northern Virginia than they are with Utah.

With my background as a CPA dealing in tax and finance, I tend to view things, like the Middle East struggle, through an economic lens, and make no mistake, these conflicts are all driven by economics.
Utah and CD3 deserve a conservative representative.  

Here's what my campaign is about:

☑️Transparency.

You can’t address a problem until you recognize that one exists. This reality alone is the main reason that governments lack transparency - their actions cannot bear scrutiny. If we keep accepting the narrative that passive compromise is the answer, we will keep playing into their plans. The stakes are high and we need to know what is happening.

☑️Cutting spending for real.

Not rearranging the baseline and calling it a cut. The $37 trillion debt is a weight our kids and grandkids will carry. I will not vote to add to it.

☑️Utah’s land and water rights staying in Utahns’ hands.

I created the Yellowcake Caucus and led it for six years as an Utah state legislator. I did it because I believe that rural Utah has the right to control its own resources. I have a long history of advocating for honest producers in Utah. That fight is not over.

☑️Immigration policy that favors Americans.

That means ending the visa programs being used to import cheap labor, mandating E-Verify for employers, and enforcing our immigration laws without apology.

☑️Government that answers to you.

In-person town halls, not choreographed virtual appearances from a couch in Northern Virginia. Votes I can explain at your kitchen table. Transparency even when it embarrasses those in power, including members of my own party.

☑️Defending Individual Liberty.

I will oppose federal mandates that reach into your home, your business, and even your vehicle. I am pro-life and pro-Second Amendment and will vote like it.

This is a grassroots campaign. No major corporate donors, no favors owed to the establishment. I grew up in this district. My family has lived in CD3 for four generations.Jody and I raised our five children here, built our business here, and now have 20 grandchildren growing up in the same communities we love. From land use to water to energy, I am deeply familiar with the issues facing this district. I have spent my career fighting for them because I have a personal stake in getting this right.

FIVE EASY STEPS TO GET $2,000,000 OF UTAH TAXPAYER’S MONEY

1.      Have great political connections with the governor and key state legislators like, say for example, the following do: Matt Lusty (Election Hive campaign management services), Steve Waldrip (Cox Housing Adviser and native Californian) and Derek Brown (lobbyist and former legislator).
2.      Set up a non-profit organization, Utah Workforce Housing Advocacy, shortly before the start of the legislative session with a mission of convincing Utahns that our housing problem is driven by a lack of supply rather than by the excess demand that has been created by the governor’s and legislature’s unlimited growth policies. This allows elected officials, developers and other related business interests to use taxpayer funds to further their agenda by having the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) grant the money to a non-profit (non-governmental organization - NGO).
3.      Have the legislature earmark $1,000,000 of taxpayer funds for your NGO and have it granted to you by GOEO. Note: Senators Jerry Stevenson and Stuart Adams had Election Hive (Lusty) help manage their campaigns and both senators exert tremendous influence over how taxpayer funds are appropriated.
4.      Submit an invoice to GOEO for $750,000 before any contract has been signed and have that invoice quickly paid after the contract is eventually signed over a month later. Once the taxpayer funds are received, funnel them to entities and/or people with close links to UWHA.
a.      $62,500 to Bizdevops Consulting, LLC  (Registered agent is RHRD, LLC. RHRD, LLC Manager is Dan Hemmert. Hemmert who is also a Partner in Election Hive);
b.      $30,000 to Honey Communications, Matt Lusty and Dan Hemmert, Partners;
c.       $100,000 to Envision Utah, (Senate President Stuart Adams, Board of Directors; Jon Cox, Partner Election Hive, Board of Governors).
5.      Even before the first $1,000,000 is spent, ask the legislature for another $2,000,000in order to get an additional $1,000,000.
2024. The Legislature intends that the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) use one-time appropriations allocated in "New Fiscal Year Supplemental Appropriations Act" (House Bill 2, 2024 General Session), Item 67 to grant Utah Workforce Housing Advocacy $1,000,000. GOEO shall distribute the funds consistent with Section 63G-6b-202 after establishing deliverables, reporting, and performance metrics described in Section 63G-6b-202(4) in "State Grant Process Amendments", (House Bill 335, 2024 General Session).

2025. Under the provisions of Utah Code Annotated Title 63G Chapter 6b, the Legislature intends that the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity provide a direct award grant of $1,000,000 to Utah Workforce Housing Advocacy in fiscal year 2026 to inform and educate Utahns as to the benefits of providing first time and workforce housing.

Given the above, how is the way Utah handles taxpayer funds that much different from the way Washington D.C. politicians funnel taxpayer funds to those with great political connections?  

Does Utah need its own DOGE? If so, who would you put in charge of it?

Utah’s Establishment is rotten to the core; nothing but backroom deals, cronyism, corruption, quid pro quo, collusion, and cover-ups.

Just look at Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson serving as campaign finance co-chair for Derek Brown while she’s supposed to be the state’s chief election officer overseeing ballot eligibility. Two AG candidates rightly called it inappropriate and a blatant conflict of interest.

As I’ve traveled the state, government corruption has emerged as voters’ number one issue. People are fed up with the insider games.

Derek Brown knew Governor Spencer Cox did not get the required number of signatures to appear on the primary ballot and he helped hide it.

Instead of transparency and fair play, the insiders circled the wagons with audits that papered over the problems, protecting their own while undermining the trust of Utah voters.

This isn’t leadership. This is the same old Utah Establishment protecting itself at the expense of the people.

Transparency First

Rep Ryan Wilcox tried to run this bill in 2024 which would have taken election oversight away from the Governor and Lt Governor.

Why was it pulled? Because the Governor said he would only support it AFTER his election!! The Governor “asked” that it be tabled.

The AGs office knew for months, well before the primary runoff election, that Cox failed to get his signatures and that there were serious legal problems with the signatures submitted. Why did they wait to do an investigation?

You guessed it - because the Governor “asked” them to wait until AFTER the election!!

Oh well, what’s one little election? We can go a few more years with an utterly corrupt government in Utah.

The siren call of politicians is - “Just wait till you see what we are going to do! Pay no attention to what we’ve done.”

The Constitution is not a suggestion.

Back in 2021, I was proud to serve as House sponsor for SJR015, our Joint Resolution on Presidential Executive Orders.

The Constitution is clear: power in our Republic is deliberately divided. The President is not a king with a pen, and no single branch should dominate the others.

That resolution reaffirmed the vital principles of separation of powers and federalism; reminding Washington that executive orders must respect constitutional limits, not bypass Congress or trample on state sovereignty.

States like Utah have a duty to push back against federal overreach. When the executive branch exceeds its authority, it weakens our entire system of checks and balances. We must continue defending limited government, individual liberty, and the rights reserved to the states and the people.

Proud of that strong bipartisan step we took to uphold our founding principles.

Proud to have sponsored HB 66 - Property Tax Relief Amendments and delivered results when I got it signed into law in 2024.

Utah families,especially our seniors and hardworking homeowners on fixed incomes, were getting crushed by rising property taxes.

I fought to strengthen the circuit breaker program, updating eligibility and rules to provide real, targeted relief on primary residences and help keep homes affordable for those who built this state.

Now, as I run for Congress, I’ll take that same fight to Washington, D.C.

I’ll push back against federal policies driving up costs, inflation, and housing burdens so Utahns can keep more of what they earn and protect our property rights at every level.

DHS is publishing the names and convictions of criminal illegal aliens arrested in each state, these cases are happening right here in Utah’s backyard.

This isn’t an accident. Utah’s stealth sanctuary state policies have left Utahns unprotected.

Even in a “red” state, too many elected officials have put politics, non-cooperation with ICE, and special interests ahead of Utah families and public safety.

That changes when I’m your Congressman.

This year, I made it a goal to visit all the County Clerks in the Beehive state, to better understand how they administer elections.

🗳️ Earlier this week, I spent most of the day at the Utah County Clerk’s office. Before leaving, I thanked Clerk @ARDavidson for his efforts to reach out to the young voters in his county. I mentioned to @KaiSchwemmer that because of his temporary appointment, he is the benefactor of an extraordinary opportunity, and I admonished him to soak in every detail and then spend his days restoring public trust in Utah's broken the elections process.

🗞️ Imagine my surprise when I read the headline that ‘serious concerns” were raised about the Deputy Clerk's appointment, “among women in elected office”. Then I read the story, it appears to me, this has less to do with Kai Schwemmer and more about Clerk Aaron Davidson.

😱 In other words, all this “pearl clutching” is a calculated political maneuver designed to influence voter decisions and alter the outcome of the County Clerk race.

🐕 Let me explain: At a recent @UtahGOP SCC meeting, @aaroncbullen yelled at one of the women, calling her a "B*tch", because she did not vote for his motion. Chairman @RobertAxson ignored this gender targeted slur. Later, on social media, Chris Null (candidate for @SLCo_Council District 5) told Aaron he did the right thing. Do you see the problem? Fully grown, adult men can objective women in the @GOP with impunity. Did you hear any outcry from the women in this article? No.

🐘 Over the past four months, @SLCountyGOP Chairman Mike Carey ousted 8 women, including Vice Chair @sarahdmontes because of his inability to engage with them on policy differences. So, he resorts to attacking their character and then abusing party bylaws to dismiss them from his presence. Mike Carey’s own brand of politics is fueled by his wounded male ego. Did you hear any outcry from the women in this article? No.

👩‍🌾 Instead, the women in this article, go after a wise County Clerk who is mentoring a young man in the ways of politics, in the hopes that he will use his influence to encourage young adults to be sober about their civic responsibilities. Did I get that right?

Why does Utah offer illegal aliens in - state tuition?

Federal law says states cannot give college tuition breaks to people here illegally just because they live in the state.

Utah found a loophole - The Utah Way

Utah’s law (HB 144) gets around this rule by using a clever trick. It says if you went to Utah high school for 3 years or more, you get to pay the cheaper in-state tuition.

In a strong Republican state like Utah, this sends the wrong message; Come here illegally, go to our schools, and we will use Utah taxpayer money to help pay for your college. At the same time, American kids from other states have to pay the full higher price.

This is not kindness. It encourages more illegal immigration, hurts our own citizens, and weakens the rule of law. Put Utahns first. Put Americans first. Close these loopholes.
