It can be so difficult to let people know how hard life is without adequate Adult Disability Services, while keeping Matthew's privacy & dignity at the same time. M has needed 4 changes of clothes today.I'm sure you can imagine why!I've done this alone.I can't ask M to try to...

There is one thing that hasn't been spoken about in all this and that is the mental toll. So as a carer, a parent of children with disabilities and a woman with a disability myself this referendum like my life is just an example of the constant need to prove our worth

A scene has been made safe after a shed was lifted 20 feet into the air over a wall by high winds.
Firefighters from Tara Street fire station were called to the incident off Kevin Street.
This is a personal callout on behalf of Sean.
On Sunday he was taking part in an @IrishWheelchair 'run n Roll' event in St Anne's Park in Raheny. Having done 2.5k of 5 he overtook someone and fell out of his chair sideways. He was on his @BatecMobility device.
He was attended to by @orderofmalta who were on site but also by a really nice guy from Artane called Oliver (or as he introduced himself to Sean as Ollie). He had just qualified as a nurse 2 days previously and is based in Beaumont Hospital.
Sean would love to be able to contact Ollie. If anyone knows him please let us know. Please RT

We hope you can support our protest on Monday. In a week with exams results out, children starting schools. We are once again left battling for our children/ adolescents. It has to stop.
1/ Yet another disappointment today when we went to Tramore beach while on holidays in Co. Waterford. We didn’t have internet access to book the beach wheelchair & it wasn’t possible to book by phonecall. We got through to the girl in charge & she said only one client per day.
A group of families of young people with intellectual disabilities have staged a protest at Leinster House over a lack of day services

Great turnout today, we have just found out that there are another 9 children involved from St Michael’s House on the Southside. That is 22 young people with no adult services. On a day with the leaving cert results out, shame on our services and government.
@c_oreilly@AnneRabbitte @dcediy @HSELive@StMichaelsHouse And thats the thing... it shouldnt be about "getting lucky". Our young adults deserve better. Definitely an on-going, poor-planning issue that needs to be addressed here. Its going to keep happening!!
@AnneRabbitte @dcediy @HSELive@StMichaelsHouse There is a bigger picture here Anne. my son is a graduate June 22 &only got a placement 13 months after leaving &35km away from home.He has complex needs
&a wheelchair user. Im doing those 4 runs a day. Where's his independence?! Problems with services all over the country!
Today #AccessForAll were into support @StMichaelsHouse Raheny as they protested the fact 13 students who are finished their 2nd level education have no where to go and no supports now they have crossed into #adulthood.
Another glaring #inequality that #society cannot ignore anymore! As you get older as you try to live your life as a person with a disability your support network is taken away from you and you are #abandoned.
#EnoughIsEnough
June 2021 Jack waited 8 months for an adult place, his bestie in 2022 only got a place now and this year his friends from @StMichaelsHouse Baldoyle , along with others from Raheny school don’t have any place. Saying you thought it was sorted @AnneRabbitte isn’t good enough
Thank you so much for your support today. For anyone asking about my #edfringe show, my one woman play is ‘Sunsets’. It’s about rom coms but also family. I’d love to have you there. I’m performing until the 27th at @Gildedballoon at 12.20pm. Thank you xx https://t.co/31fL7wGioc
Please please spread the word about the Elephant in the room project. It is all about mental health. I was so honoured that President Michael D signed the Elephant for the Samaritans and for me. There will be twenty elephants and hopefully this project will raise lots of money.
We just had a horrendous experience in Dublin Airport
@Ryanair closed the doors to our flight in front of our face. People had walked through seconds earlier. We explained that we our four year old is autistic and needs to get on the plane last. Right as we were about to board he needed to pee. Then he lost his important flyer lanyard and we were looking for it. Staff didn’t care and kept repeating that it was closed. Nobody had even been allowed onto the plane at this stage and were all still queuing. We begged and pleaded to let us on. My poor son was having a meltdown because he was ready to get on the plane.
How can @Ryanair treat an autistic child with such a lack of understanding or empathy
The staff in @DublinAirport are all angels! They were AMAZING
I’d like to get a bespoke bike made for Jack so that I could take him to the canal & on the greenway. It would have to have electric assist. I would want to carry him behind me in his own wheelchair or preferably buggy as he has a hood/ sun canopy to protect him. Similar to pic.
