I don't know what to say to this Post.

But I am going to try !

It is genuinely sickening.

The British Empire did not simply “invest” in other countries. It extracted from them. It took land, labour, minerals, taxes, crops and human lives. It built railways and ports, yes, but often to move wealth out, not to build freedom in.

So when YOU says former colonies should “pay Britain back”, I honestly find that morally obscene.

Pay Britain back for what?
For being occupied?
For having resources taken?
For being told that extraction was civilisation?
For having economies shaped around British interests?
For being left with borders, wounds and divisions that still scar countries today?

And let’s remember this clearly.

When slavery was abolished, Britain paid compensation to slave owners.

Not to the enslaved.

To the people who had owned human beings.

So please spare me the idea that empire was some great act of generosity for which former colonies should now show gratitude.

No British person alive today is personally guilty for what happened centuries ago. But maybe you are.
