This year's May 2nd-3rd celebrations are special, coinciding with the visit of Minister @WTBartoszewski and Director Anna Sochańska @sochanska in Melbourne. They met with the Polish communities, giving speeches and visiting institutions preserving Polish culture in Australia.

In addition to the screening, our audience had the opportunity to watch a video message from Professor Jan Lencznarowicz of the Jagiellonian University, director, Adam Nawrot, and from one of the expedition participants, Piotr Chmieliński.

On the eve of 4.06. (1.semi-free elections in 🇵🇱 in 1989), we hosted a full-house screening of Godspeed Los Polacos – the story of the Canoandes ’79 expedition, culminating in the first descent of Peru’s Colca Canyon and a later fight for democracy in Central & Eastern Europe.

The event was proudly organized by the Embassy of Poland and the Embassy of Peru in Australia. Following the screening, guests enjoyed a selection of Polish and Peruvian delicacies, providing a wonderful opportunity to continue the conversation.

On 1.06, Polish Children's Day, our Embassy joined the “All of Poland Reads to Children” campaign, thanks to the initiative of Ms Ewelina Ellsmore and Liverpool Polish Saturday School. Parents, teachers, educators and children came together to celebrate the importance of reading.
