Lastly, the biggest problem with the PSOne is the psu SCPH-121 which is required for the LCD combo as it requires 3amp not to be confused with using a SCPH-113 2amp, as these units go bad frequently! A full recap was in order! It’s the only and best psu available!

Up next, the LCD was very dimmed which is typically the cause of a bad PS1 and/or PS2 fuse. Replaced both fuses and capacitors for good measure and I was back in business! Followed, by a deep clean 🧼 of the PSOne controller and newly added conductive pads.

After all parts were deep cleaned and UV treated, I worked on replacing all caps and voltage regulator on the right side of the shot while working on another project. Lastly, applied UV spray protectant on all parts and called it a day!

Removed all parts needed to be deep cleaned and placed under UV to remove all yellowing. Along with new conductive pads for the dog one controller.

In putting everything back together, I decided to also get rid of the dirty cooling fan and replaced it with a clean upgraded model from rev 007 to 008. Picture was restored and all console parts were completely washed and deep cleaned. Like new again back in action!

Bought this listed Xbox One X on EBay for $50 due to no video output and shutting off after a period of it being left on. Can it be brought back to life? Well, let’s find out!

The obvious culprit after looking inside was the completely dried out thermal paste. After further investigation the HDMI IC retimer chip was dead causing no visual output and needed to be replaced. Swapped out the thermal pads also for good measure.
