@berkey11 The FTP deal that gave you an extra $85k. I’m sure that was very helpful to you & others who received similar, especially early into your career. What are some ideas that could be done now to help others earlier in their career that would also mutually help the ones providing it?
Poker action at @ChoctawDurant was great, but they like keeping the 2/5 list 40+ Friday & Saturday night. I watched them open three new 1/2 tables at once without considering the concept that opening 2/5 tables would free up the same number of 1/2 seats… Players waited 5+ hours.
@berkey11 If you could come up with a modern day, mutually beneficial idea, that could help up and coming players speed run their career like this did for you, what would it be? Or is that too self indulgent?
@Table1Vegas IMO, the payout structures of tournaments suck. That’s why I don’t play them. How can you fade 8700 people, make day 6 of the main, and only 2.5x your money in profit? If more people go back to their local rooms with more money, then those local rooms economies will grow.
@RobKuhn_ What’s strange to me is how this feeds into the James Bond Casino Royale silliness that you could theoretically take your watch off or pull your car keys out and throw them into the pot mid hand. But IMO, you should only be able to add those items to your stack in between hands…
@BartHanson Running it twice is advantageous in a capped game if you’re well above the cap and covered if there are other stacks well above the cap because you don’t want to lose your ability to get the max in future pots.
@shaundeeb TABC didn’t even allow players to cash out before forcing them to leave. Whatever is on the table is at risk in Texas whether you win or lose…
Most people think making it in poker requires ancillary income streams but that’s just your brain looking for a way around the wall you’ve always known you’ll have to bulldoze your way through.
@dwpoker Imagine if it was 60 days, was purely about survival, only contained expert survivalists, and was located in the Louisiana’s Atchafalaya Basin. That actually exists, it’s season 7 of Naked and Afraid XL and it’s the best season of this TV genre ever created.
@jeremyausmus@berkey11 I’ve also met multiple lotto winners playing poker but that doesn’t mean I should use that as evidence to buy tickets. There needs to be a more straightforward, mainstream path to backing that has nothing to do with social media visibility.
@VanjaPoker Yesterday a drunk recreational bluffed river OOP and got snapped. He says “good hand” angling to get him to show so he can muck without showing. Profitable reg berates him as an angler, another reg joins in. Rec player gets so upset he takes his chips and leaves. Let him angle!!!
