📞🇵🇱🇮🇱 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister @sikorskiradek spoke with his Israeli counterpart, @gidonsaar.
❗ The main topic of the conversation was the attack by illegal Israeli settlers on a diplomatic convoy in the West Bank, which also included Polish diplomats. Minister @gidonsaar informed his counterpart of the police operation carried out and the arrests made in connection with the incident.
The Israeli side also raised the issue of Poland joining the joint statement initiated by the UK and signed by 12 countries on restrictions on trade in goods originating from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Minister Sikorski stressed that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are not part of Israel. Israel is the occupying power in these territories, which entails specific obligations under international law, particularly with regard to the protection of civilians.
🌍 The ministers also discussed Russian support for Iran and the security situation in both regions.
Regarding Russia’s aggression against Ukraine 🇺🇦, Minister Sikorski emphasised the need to increase international pressure on Russia, the aggressor, rather than on the victim of its aggression.
Both ministers agreed that Poland is a safe and welcoming country for visitors. This is reflected, among other things, in the growing number of Israeli tourists choosing Poland as their travel destination.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland condemns the attack carried out by masked settlers in Taybeh in the West Bank.
The assault that took place during a solidarity visit to a village known for the centuries-old Christian presence there is yet another evidence of settler violence faced by the Palestinian population in the West Bank on a daily basis.
The attack should be met with a firm response from the Israeli authorities. We sympathise with the statements made by the Foreign Ministers of France and Belgium.
We call for putting an end to the spiral of violence in the West Bank and for acting in the spirit of respect for international law.
A convoy carrying members of the diplomatic corps, including Polish diplomats, was attacked in the West Bank. According to preliminary information, Israeli settlers may have been responsible for the incident.
The Polish diplomats were unharmed. Based on the information currently available to us, there is no indication that they were specifically targeted.
We are deeply outraged by this incident and condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Poland has consistently opposed violence perpetrated by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. Attacks against members of the diplomatic corps are absolutely unacceptable.
We remain in close contact with our partners to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
We expect the Israeli authorities to provide urgent and detailed explanations, identify those responsible and ensure that they are held accountable. We also expect effective measures to be taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Whether cycling against the wind together or working side by side on European security, a strong partnership makes all the difference.
Today, Minister @sikorskiradek and @ministerBZ opened the annual Utrecht Conference. Since 1999, the conference has brought Poland and the Netherlands together to strengthen political and economic cooperation and address shared challenges.
With this year’s conference taking place in the Netherlands, a bike ride and a stop at a traditional Dutch oliebollen stand were a must.
Our close cooperation keeps moving forward, and next year’s conference in Poland may be the perfect moment to discover Polish pączki.
🇵🇱🇬🇧 A timely meeting between Poland’s Deputy FM @RKupiecki and the UK’s Deputy National Security Adviser, @BWoodward_UN.
Discussions focused on continued support for Ukraine and closer coordination in countering hybrid threats.
💬 I believe the consequences of the war in Ukraine are no longer just about Ukraine. They are about the status of Europe. Are we going to be an independent center of power and influence, or are we going to be a contested area between Russia and the United States? Our values and the global order we have built are worth defending.

💬 But hope is not a strategy. That is why most of the post-Soviet states jumped at the opportunity to join Western security institutions. Contrary to what Russian propaganda would like you to believe, NATO did not expand to the East on its own. It was invited.

💬 Over the centuries, nations in the region have experienced consequences of Moscow's lust for land. Under the Tsars, under communism, and now under Vladimir Putin, regimes have changed, but imperialism has persisted.

Poland Takeover Week is happening now on @abc7gmw!
Tune in at 10am EST everyday this week to celebrate Polish American Heritage Month and catch a glimpse @Brian7NewsDC’s trip to Poland.
💬 As allies in NATO and partners in the European Union, we work closely together to strengthen collective defence, enhance the protection of critical infrastructure and increase our resilience against hybrid threats. Our cooperation proves that solidarity – the word that we in Poland hold dear – is not just a principle we uphold. It is a commitment we put into action.
| Deputy PM, FM @sikorskiradek's opening remarks at the Utrecht Conference
💬 Russia is escalating in Ukraine. Its attacks are getting more and more intense. Its strikes continue to devastate cities, destroy critical infrastructure and claim civilian lives. […] It is therefore encouraging to see that both Poland and the Netherlands stand firmly committed to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to defending an international order in which borders cannot be changed by force.
