CM Assures Rs 5,000 Crore for LA, R&R of Irrigation Projects: Uttam

Rs 2,000 crore already released; balance Rs 3,000 crore under process

In a major push to accelerate irrigation projects held up by land acquisition, rehabilitation and statutory clearances, Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had assured Rs 5,000 crore on priority for Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement works linked to irrigation projects across Telangana.

He said about Rs 2,000 crore had already been released, while the remaining Rs 3,000 crore was under process. He made it clear that shortage of funds would not become a reason for delaying irrigation works that were otherwise nearing completion.

Addressing a comprehensive review of irrigation projects under implementation in the districts of Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Rajanna Sircilla (erstwhile Karimnagar district), Uttam Kumar Reddy directed District Collectors and Irrigation officials to treat land acquisition, R&R, forest clearances and environmental approvals as priority issues and resolve them on a war footing.

Agriculture Minister and district In-charge Minister @Tummala_INC IT and Industries Minister @OffDSB , Transport Minister @Ponnam_INC and Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Minister @MinisterAdluri participated in the review along with elected representatives.

He asked Collectors to raise financial requirements and obtain the necessary tokens without delay. Compensation to landowners and rehabilitation of project-affected families, he said, should proceed in parallel with engineering works wherever feasible.

The Minister said the Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy was giving special attention to irrigation projects so that investments already made in major projects could be converted quickly into irrigation benefits for farmers. A major focus of the review was the, where works have remained stalled for about four-and-a-half years.

Uttam Kumar Reddy directed officials to immediately resolve the land-related issues and restart the balance works Mid Manair Left Canal. He stressed that revised estimates, land acquisition, tenders and statutory clearances should be pursued simultaneously.

Pathipaka Reservoir

He said the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Reservoir at Pathipaka in Dharmaram mandal of Peddapalli district should put on fast track. The scheme is proposed to create 10,000 acres of new irrigation potential and stabilise 2.40 lakh acres under D-83 to D-94 of the Kakatiya Main Canal covering Dharmapuri, Choppadandi, Peddapalli, Ramagundam and Manthani constituencies.

Two alternatives — a 3-TMC and a 5-TMC reservoir — are under examination. LIDAR survey and data processing have been completed, while borehole drilling, trial pits and geotechnical investigations are under progress. The officials assured that the DPR would be submitted by the end of August.

The Rollavagu project in Beerpur mandal of Jagtial district, which is 96 per cent complete, also came up for detailed review. The project seeks to enhance storage from the existing 0.250 TMC to about 0.949 TMC by harnessing local catchment and thereby sustain nearly 15,000 acres of tail-end ayacut.

Major components, including three bunds, the surplus weir and head sluices, have substantially been completed. The remaining work depends largely on forest clearance, as a portion of Bund-II falls in forest land. Land for compensatory afforestation has already been identified and the wildlife mitigation plan approved.

The Minister directed officials to prepare a project-wise inventory of pending LA, R&R, forest and environmental clearance issues, indicating the amount required, present stage and deadline for resolution.

దోమల లార్వాలు వృద్ధి చెందే ప్రాంతాలను గుర్తించి యాంటీ లార్వా ఆపరేషన్స్ నిర్వహిస్తున్నాం.
జీహెచ్‌ఎంసీ పరిధిలో విస్తృతంగా ఫాగింగ్ చేపడుతున్నాం.
దోమల నివారణపై కరపత్రాల ద్వారా అవగాహన కల్పిస్తున్నాం.
పాఠశాలల్లో విద్యార్థులకు దోమల నివారణ, పరిసరాల పరిశుభ్రతపై అవగాహన కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహిస్తున్నాం.
వర్షాల కారణంగా నిల్వ ఉన్న నీటిని తొలగించేలా ప్రజలకు సూచనలు చేస్తున్నాం.

ప్రజలు స్వీయ బాధ్యతతో పరిసరాలను పరిశుభ్రంగా ఉంచుకోవాలి

హైదరాబాద్ ప్రజల ఆరోగ్య పరిరక్షణలో భాగంగా జీహెచ్‌ఎంసీ ద్వారా ఇంటింటికీ వెళ్లి పరిసరాల పరిశుభ్రత, దోమల నివారణపై అవగాహన కల్పిస్తున్నాం.

ప్రజలందరూ స్వీయ బాధ్యతతో తమ ఇళ్లను, పరిసరాలను పరిశుభ్రంగా ఉంచుకోవాలి. ప్రతి శుక్రవారం ‘ఫ్రైడే–డ్రైడే’ కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా ఇళ్లలో, పరిసరాల్లో నిల్వ ఉన్న నీటిని తొలగించి దోమల లార్వాలు పెరగకుండా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవాలి.

డెంగ్యూ, చికున్‌గున్యా వంటి వ్యాధులు రాకుండా ప్రభుత్వం ముందస్తు చర్యలు చేపడుతోంది. ప్రజలు కూడా ప్రభుత్వానికి సహకరించి తమ ఇళ్ల పరిసరాల్లో నీరు నిల్వ లేకుండా చూసుకోవాలి.

ప్రభుత్వం ఎన్ని చర్యలు చేపట్టినా ప్రజలు తమ ఇళ్లను, పరిసరాలను పరిశుభ్రంగా ఉంచినప్పుడే హైదరాబాద్‌ను ఆరోగ్యకరమైన నగరంగా తీర్చిదిద్దగలం. వ్యాధి వచ్చిన తర్వాత చికిత్స తీసుకోవడం కంటే వ్యాధులు రాకుండా ముందస్తు జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవడమే ఉత్తమం.

జీహెచ్‌ఎంసీ చేస్తున్న విజ్ఞప్తిని ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ పాటించి దోమల నివారణలో భాగస్వాములు కావాలని కోరుతున్నాను.
