As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen urban governance and build the capacities of elected representatives, Praja Foundation conducted a Capacity Building Workshop on the newly introduced Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 for the Councillors of the Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam.
The workshop was attended by Manglesh Kumar Srivastava, Mayor; Pawan Tripathi, Deputy Speaker; Ajay Jain, Municipal Commissioner; Pramod Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner, along with councillors and officials of the Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam.
The workshop provided an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the new regulatory framework and its implications for urban governance and municipal waste management.

Councillors actively participated in the session by sharing:
