PASTORS IN LACK, CHRISTIANS GIVING IS THE SOLUTION
Baba Enoch Adeboye,
Bishop David Oyedepo,
Rev. George Adegboye,
Pastor Poju Oyemade,
Pastor Jerry Eze,
Pastor Sam Adeyemi,
Pastor Sola Osunmakinde,
Pastor Paul Eneche,
Pastor Bolaji Idowu,
Apostle Emmanuel Iren…
These are not the only pastors in Nigeria. Read that again. These are not the ONLY PASTORS IN NIGERIA. Yes, these people are men of means. God has helped them. They can be called wealthy, because they are.
But don’t get it wrong - they are not every pastor. They do not represent 97% of Pastors in Nigeria. And if you will ask them, they will tell you the same thing. For many of them have to reach out to struggling pastors.
There are pastors struggling - in mission fields, in hinterlands, in the cities, in your neighborhood, everywhere. They can barely keep the church doors open. Yes, they are seeing conversions. Souls are being won and discipled. Yet their family and children are languishing in pain, and lack. They will not complain - but their children are bearing the brunt of the calling.
In their lack, they still have people they must support. Welfare that must be given. People struggling to pay rents and fees. They can’t turn their face away.
In their lack, they give. And YES MANY PASTORS ARE WEARY, TIRED AND BURDENED. Yet they keep going on. Oh, no, they are not lazy.
Some work menial jobs, and other jobs. Some pay salaries to new converts. Some are permanently fasting, because the monies for food have been given out to some other family. It’s the burden of the calling.
They need your help…especially if you are not attending a mega church. Please do give to your Pastor. Support him. Support the work. Make his life and that of his family easy. Encourage him with your words.
If you can, pay the school fees of some of his wards.
Send food to his house.
Buy him clothes.
Give your offering. Pay your tithes. Buy equipment. Ask him how you can be of help. Support the work.
Don’t listen to the noise online, the world isn’t coming to build God’s Kingdom. You are! We are!!!
Everyday I hear stories that break me. Marriages on the verge of breaking. People going to places you will never dream of going. Souls aren’t just in Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt. There are souls in Oro, Keffi, Jen, Abule-Ero, Ekpoma etc.
Please support your pastor today.
Do share this that other Christians may see it.
Grace to you!!!
In Christ,
Fisayo Adeniyi
Last week, I was deeply disturbed hearing Baba Adeboye say, “Even little children now call me stupid.” Something is going terribly wrong.
There is a DIGITAL RECKLESSNESS spreading through a generation. People now say things behind screens that they would NEVER have the courage to say standing before the person. Social media has given everybody a microphone, but A MICROPHONE IS NOT A MANDATE.
Scripture says, “Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father” (1 Timothy 5:1). Jude warns about those who “despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities” (Jude 8). Peter describes people who are “presumptuous” and “not afraid to speak evil of dignities” (2 Peter 2:10).
These are not casual warnings.
And Christian bloggers, BE CAREFUL!
Do not build your income on the destruction of honour in the Body of Christ. Do not discover that outrage pays and then deliberately keep believers angry because anger produces clicks.
Do not turn dishonour into a business model.
Do not cut clips to manufacture wars. Do not create inflammatory headlines to pitch ministers against one another. Do not monetise insults, rage and accusations and then call it “Christian content.”
There is money you should be AFRAID to make.
There are views you should not want.
There are conversations you should refuse to amplify.
Young people, hear me: the internet has not suspended the fear of God.
You can disagree without dishonour.
You can question without insulting.
You can examine doctrine without becoming abusive.
Do not mistake rudeness for boldness, mockery for discernment, rage for revelation or virality for divine approval.
Scripture still says, “Honour all men” (1 Peter 2:17).
Your keyboard did not cancel that command.
PUT THE FEAR OF GOD BACK INTO YOUR DIGITAL LIFE.
Because some clicks are simply too expensive for your soul.
How can the gospel be effective in a country like Singapore?
What about in Iceland and Japan?
What about in Rwanda?
If what we preach is sin consciousness or legalism, we will never get to win any soul in these nations.
They have the lowest crime rate in the world
This does not make them HOLY or Saved and fit for heaven
It only makes the "you will lose your salvation" approach ineffective in these countries.
When governments work hard to eliminate crime, and citizens comply, will the gospel we preach still be effective?
If our message is sin and sin consciousness and fear of hell, the citizens in these nations and others like it including Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar etc be saved?
If the message is not Jesus, and eternal life
How will the people in nations like this bother to embrace Jesus?
The things religion introduced that were clearly NOT in the BIble
1. The pastor being the Spiritual covering of members of a church.
This is a manipulative idea introduced by pastors and spiritual leaders to control the decisions and real-life choices of members rather than train members to walk with the Holy Spirit and make the choices they ought to make for their own lives, with a full conviction that God is with them or with a desire to bear the consequences if things go wrong.
2. Pastor being the fertile ground where members must sow seeds in order to prosper in life and business.
This teaching was concocted in order to manipulate members to direct a percentage of their resources to the pastor, whom they consider their spiritual source, in order for them to get the blessings of God in their individual lives and businesses.
Many believers have sold properties, given up life savings, cars, land and so on in order to be blessed by God. This then seems more like a gambling situation than having true faith in God and working in order to prosper.
3. Before you can get married, you must bring your suitor to pastor for Spiritual clearance and approval.
Pastors claim that they know their members individually and therefore can attest to their individual character and marriageability. Therefore, if a member asks you out, you must come and report the member to the pastor for guidance.
Again, this practise is not in the Bible at all.
Pastors came up with it in order to play "God" and maintain control over their members so that the tithes, seed and offering from such a member stays within the fold after the marriage and more importantly, to become familiar with the person the individual want to get married to and convince such a member not to turn their faithful parishioner (who is with the person) against them and their interest after the wedding.
4. You CAN LOSE YOUR SALVATION.
This is a classic bait-and-switch situation in which the pastor preaches salvation to the unbeliever and guarantees the unbeliever eternal salvation through their belief in Christ Jesus. Once the person has accepted Jesus Christ as lord and Saviour and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the tactics change to "If you do anything wrong, you will lose your salvation; therefore you must confess your sins and rededicate your life constantly in order to remain heaven worthy."
More like after subscribing to Apple Music, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Gmail and other services, you discover that you have to pay monthly to maintain the subscription so that the companies keep making money off you rather than let you buy your phone and keep all its features after the purchase.
It is a lie you should never fall for.
For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
Once you give your life to Jesus, you have eternal life through your faith in Christ Jesus and this is guaranteed by the Holy Spirit.
John3:16, John 6:47, 1 John 5:11-12
Eternal life is a gift given by grace through faith, it is not earned by work.
5. People do wrong things because they have not been well taught about SIN.
Nobody needs to be taught about sin. Man by nature is a sinful being. David said In Iniquity was i shaped and sin did my mother conceive me.
The reality of human life is absolutely and without exception sinful. Even if the individual never did anything wrong in his or her life, the seed of sin was in him and therefore he or she was a sinner.
That individual was given a reprieve through the finished works of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross so that he or she can believe in Jesus Christ and become the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.
Once an individual gives his or her life to Jesus, he or she receives the gift of righteousness and becomes a born-again Christian
You don't need to teach him sin anymore; you need to teach him righteousness and how to live a righteous life and make right decisions as led by the Holy Spirit.
6. If you don't pay your tithe to the church you are a robber and you will not make heaven
This is a lie and there is no backing for it in the BIBLE anywhere.
God loves a cheerful giver and we are all encouraged to give willingly as led by the Holy Spirit to the work of the gospel and its advancement all over the world.
It is also true that we must not be selfish and should give that there may be meat in the house of God for the ministers and the needy; however, we give out of our abundance and from a blessed position and not out of compulsion or fear of a curse or lack.
7. In times of trial, you can stand on your tithe and pray.
This is not true. The believer has his or her being in Christ and not in any other place. For in him we live and move and have our being Acts 17:28.
Whatever we have given to the work of God or to fellow believers or the work of ministry is not a blackmail tool with which we can blackmail God to do what we want for us.
God has blessed us long before we even became believers. For while we were yet sinners Christ Jesus died for us. Romans 5: 6-8
8. If you don't live a Holy LIFE, you will not make heaven.
This is a lie.
The Pharisees and Sadducees and keepers of the law lived a HOLY LIFE according to the law, and none of them got saved or gained eternal life by it. Nicodemus was a teacher of the law, a Pharisee, and he didn't even know how to be saved. In John 3, Jesus had a long conversation with him and taught him and all of us what it means to be saved.
Verily, verily I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
Being born again is a guarantee of eternal life.
In order to walk in victory on the earth as a believer, you must be led by the Holy Spirit, and you must walk in authority and power. You cannot do this by walking in the flesh or living in a carnal reality. You must walk in the Spirit
Galatians 5:16 "So I say, walk in the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh"
You don't need to walk in self-righteousness or according to the law to live a Holy Life.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" Romans 8:14
9. You must submit to the Authority of your Pastor in order to prosper
Your pastor has the authority of his office, within the church he leads, of which you are a member and he has the authority of the believer which Jesus gave to everyone who are saved
You have the authority of the believer, which Christ gave unto you over all things.
As long as you are a member of that church, in the things pertaining to the church and the organisation of service and programmes and services, the pastor has authority over you.
This is just so there is order in the church.
Outside of that, the pastor has no authority over you, your life or your decisions.
The pastor is not the Holy Spirit, and he is not your dream interpreter or your life guide or spiritual eyes.
He can offer training in righteousness based on his experience, divine relationships and words of counsel when you need it, but he is not "God" to you, and he cannot determine the course of your life and destiny by cursing you or steering you out of his own selfish ambition to do things that are contrary to the instructions of God for your life.
You have every right to leave his church and join another if you feel you are being manipulated by this man or woman.
10) You must be at your best behaviour before you can eat the communion
Again, how does anyone know he or she is at his best behaviour at any point in time without resorting to self-righteousness and glorifying in the flesh?
It is Christ who justifies.
Romans 8: 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
When there is a communion to be had, you do not eat it according to the flesh by according to the Spirit. It is a spiritual meal meant to quicken the Holy Spirit in you and spur you on unto good works.
Not eating it because you have done something wrong in the flesh keeps your heart hardened and exposes you to spiritual weakness as you starve your spirit of the vitality of its union with Christ.
If you are of God, you will eat the communion without guilt and with a sense of total surrender to the Holy Spirit who guides you and helps you become more like Christ daily.
