Daughters should always come second
Mother's should always come second
Father's should always come second
Son's should always come second
Christ must come first.
Luke 14:25-35

If you line up the things you love and Christ is not your highest priority, you cannot be His disciple.
Christ must be first or not at all.

What does it cost to be a Christian?
Nothing — it’s about receiving the free gift of forgiveness.
Everything — we must give up everything to follow Christ as Lord.

Applications - Here are the key applications from the last seminar of the EMA - Understanding the times.
1. Give ourselves fully to the re-evangelisation of the UK.
2. Pray to the Lord of the harvest for workers.
3. Give sacrificially and work tirelessly to raise up, train, and support workers.
4. Inspire the next generation of gospel workers to reach the nation with Christ.
5. Identify, train, and resource evangelists, as well as pastor-teachers.
6. Inspire pastor-teachers with a heart to reach the lost, while becoming more like Christ.
7. Encourage our church members with the stories and the statistics to make the most of this opportunity.
8. Restore our Sunday gatherings to the centre of our evangelism strategy — others need to hear the Word and see what it does in the lives of believers.
9. Unashamedly preach the whole counsel of God, confident that every part makes better sense of the world than the world’s philosophy — in words that a non-Christian will understand.
10. Prepare for the challenge of reaching people shaped by the “believe in yourself” worldview.
11. Expect continuing hostility — perhaps in increasing measure.
12. For the sake of the lost, we must not be intimidated by hostility — like Paul, being prepared to suffer all things for the sake of the elect and the glory to come.

Our nation is harassed and helpless — anxious, overwhelmed, unloved.
Jesus says: the harvest is plentiful.
So we pray, we send, we train, we preach — expecting both hostility and hunger, and trusting God to bring many to Christ.
#EMA2026#Multiply
We live in the age of the Risen King — that is the unchanging reality until He returns.
Though the Word has been hidden from many, God has graciously preserved it among a few. And now, there are signs of hunger again.
Let’s give thanks — and get to work.

The Lord is at work in our land — and that should make us double our efforts to train gospel workers.
In an age of decline, God is preserving His Word and His church. Could we be seeing the tide begin to turn?
Now is a great time of gospel opportunity.

“You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, my persecutions and sufferings…” — 2 Timothy 3:10–11
Thank you, David Jackman, for modelling faithful ministry to us so clearly.

A summary of the David Jackman interview:
Reflecting on 40 years of The Proclamation Trust, David Jackman reminded us that the need remains the same—keeping the Bible in the driving seat of church life.
Expository preaching draws out the transformational truth of Scripture, not adding bolt-on application but letting the passage shape lives as God intends.
Training isn’t a specialist track but the normal work of the church—forming both character and conviction through Word ministry and real-life context.
And at the heart of it all is gospel partnership—not competition, but working together to proclaim the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gospel partnership isn’t about competition—but proclaiming the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
We need each other.
We grow together.
And God gives the increase.

"The goal of preaching isn’t just explanation—it’s transformation.
God’s Word comes with purpose: to change hearts, minds, and wills.
Are we giving enough time to the implications for people’s lives?"

"Expository preaching means letting the Bible set the agenda.
Not parachuting into verses.
Not bolting on application.
But drawing out the transformational truth God has already put there."

A summary of Carl Matthei’s final EMA session:
We saw from 1 Timothy 4:1–10 that multiplying gospel workers is a matter of life and death.
The antidote to false teachers who teach deadly lies is teachers who teach the truth that leads to life.
We looked at two training phases in the relationship between trainer Paul and trainee Timothy:
Training phase 1 — Trainers are to train with and then send trainees.
Training phase 2 — Trainers are to train themselves.

We need to train our bodies no matter how old we get — the same is true of training in godliness.
Listening to God’s Word
Repenting
Growing in godliness
We all are to persevere in this until the Lord takes us home.
