“Draft Day”

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you.”
John 15:16

Today and tomorrow, thousands of baseball players from high schools and colleges across America, Canada, and Puerto Rico will be glued to their phones, computers and televisions, waiting for one life changing moment.

“The 2026 Major League Baseball Draft”

Every name called represents years of early mornings, late nights, bus rides, batting cages, weight rooms, injuries, sacrifices, and dreams.

Every player hopes to hear a team say…

“We choose you.”

“We pick you.”

“We selected you.”

But the reality is difficult.

With just over 600+ players expected to be drafted, thousands of talented athletes won’t hear their name called.

Some who were projected to be drafted, won’t be. Some who believed they had done enough will walk away disappointed.

It doesn’t mean they aren’t gifted.

It doesn’t mean they aren’t talented.

It doesn’t mean they aren’t valuable.

It simply means for whatever reason, their name wasn’t called this time. This draft. This day.

The truth is that life can feel that way, too.

Many of us know what it’s like to feel overlooked. Pushed aside. Passed by. Forgotten about. Left wondering why someone else was chosen while we were not.

That’s why Jesus’ words in John 15:16 are so powerful.

Don’t miss His words!…

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you.”

Before you ever sought after Him, He set His affection on you.

Before you ever searched for Him, He set His eye on you.

Before you proved yourself, He called you.

Before you performed, produced, or perfected anything, He put His finger on your life and said,

“You Are Mine.”

You see, God’s kingdom doesn’t operate like a draft room.

He isn’t comparing reports.

He isn’t measuring analytics.

He isn’t waiting to see who has the highest ceiling or the best tools or the greatest impact.

Jesus already made His choice.

You!

Your identity isn’t determined by whether a coach picks you, a scout drafts you, a company hires you, a college accepts you, or a crowd applauds you.

Your greatest acceptance came at the cross, where Jesus declared your worth with His own blood.

At 1PM EST today, while many baseball players wait to hear a commissioner call their name, remember this:

Your Savior already has.

He knows your name.

He knows your story.

He knows your failures.

He knows your future.

And He has never regretted choosing you.

Listen Closely: If today leaves you feeling forgotten, overlooked, or left out, don’t confuse man’s selection with God’s affection.

The draft may end tomorrow.

God’s choosing never does.

Walk in the confidence that the Creator of the universe looked at you and said, “You Are Mine.”

That’s a calling no one can take away.

Love God. Love People. Live Sent.
