Yesterday, RAF Boulmer personnel joined cadets, veterans, local dignitaries and members of the public at Newcastle Cathedral for a special Battle of Britain Service, honouring the courage and sacrifice of ‘The Few’.
We will remember them.
Today marks the 111th Birthday of 19 Squadron and 20 Squadron. To commemorate the occasion, both Squadrons came together for a joint ceremony, celebrating their history and heritage.
Today, command of the Air Command and Control Force transferred from Group Captain Lisa to Group Captain Chris.
We wish Group Captain Lisa every success in her next role and look forward to the Force’s continued success under Group Captain Chris.

RAF Boulmer welcomed Air and Space Commander, Air Marshal Mark Flewin, this week.
The visit showcased the vital role of RAF Boulmer in UK air surveillance, command and control and operational support.

This week we welcomed DACOS Air Bases, Gp Cap Vamplew, for a visit to see first-hand the progress being made with the station's ongoing infrastructure projects.
The visit included a tour of the new blocks currently under construction, which are on track to open in Spring 2027.
Congratulations to everyone who received an award at our Honours and Awards Ceremony this week.
Personnel from across the Air Command and Control Force and RAF Boulmer were presented with their awards by Air Officer Commanding No. 2 Group, Air Vice-Marshal Lyle.
Recently, we welcomed AOC 2 Gp for our Annual Formal Visit.
AVM Lyle witnessed the infrastructure projects designed to enhance the living and working environment for our personnel, strengthening our ability to deliver our vital contribution to the UK's air defence mission.
Recently, RAF Boulmer joined forces with local schools, businesses and residents to deliver a Community Road Safety Morning in Longhoughton, promoting safe and legal driving through the village.

Always great to welcome Warrant Officer of the RAF, Warrant Officer Subramaniam.
During a recent visit he met with personnel from across RAF Boulmer and the Air C2 Force to discuss the lived experience. Also hosting a Town Hall and met with some of the Station’s LEAD Graduates.
Recently Station Delivery Squadron were at Rothbury House to help celebrate Armed Forces Day with the local community!
Days like this really strengthen the bond between RAF Boulmer, RAFA and the community around us, all pulling together to support those who’ve served.
The Defence Investment Plan marks a significant milestone for UK Defence and the RAF.
Through investment in our people, technology and capabilities, the DIP will accelerate modernisation, strengthen our contribution to NATO, and prepare us for the challenges of tomorrow.
Wg Cdr Redhead, visited the site of the new accommodation builds to mark a key milestone, observing the installation of the final panel on the ground floor.
Work continues at pace as both accommodation blocks take shape, supporting improved living facilities for personnel.

Last week, personnel from RAF Boulmer and the Air Command and Control Force marked the 82nd anniversary of D-Day with a visit to Normandy.
The week concluded with a ceremony on Omaha Beach, near the 21 Base Defence Sector Memorial.
