Indian Railways has approved the Somtane-Chikhli Chord Line Project, which will increase connectivity on the Karjat and Roha corridors by decongesting Panvel Junction, and strengthen freight connectivity linked to JNPT port.

Flagged off the Pune–Sainagar Shirdi daily train service, along with Maharashtra CM Shri @Dev_Fadnavis Ji. It is the first direct train connecting Pune and Shirdi.
