@Bigdawg_Fly@LlCool i don't sit around listening to his whole discog / earliest work (i have heard it, i understand what it was for it's time) but i do to this day still play:
Luv U Better (one of my favs OAT)
Loungin (Who Do Ya Luv)
Hush
Headsprung
Doin it
Paradise
@BellaBaddie__ but to answer your question directly:
Daily:
Water
Protein drinks
Occasional:
milkshakes
wellness shots (ginger turmeric or elderberry)
used to make protein + healthy fat smoothies when my schedule allowed it
@BellaBaddie__ ditched soda 2011-2012ish
but after childhood it was mostly an "i guess so/proximity" drink (school party, cookouts, restaurant shirley temples etc) I rarely ever just WANTED a soda.
so when i stopped it was easy, and I never miss it.
also i hated that post-soda teeth feeling
@LexDiamonds__ Palates deep fried with stale oil.
the audacity to say that. but thats bc they've only heard drake, party, tiller & some randoms that came out in 2016-2020
(mind you R&B Drake is my favorite version of him) but let's get a grip lmao. the stans think he is the top of all things.
@HappyIsWack2me There's a good chunk that I'm not the biggest fan of (a few laughs but never rewatch) So I rank PE above these (but many might disagree):
Anchorman
Anchorman 2
Talladega Nights
Popstar
Walk Hard
Zohan
This Is 40
The Five-Year Engagement
Year One
Kicking & Screaming
Wanderlust
@HappyIsWack2me Agreed. rewatched it in May. has a few hilarious scenes but it drags. My Judd Apatow movie rankings I have it below all of these:
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (1 of my fav movies OAT)
Knocked Up
Funny People
40 Year Old Virgin
Get Him To The Greek
Superbad
Bridesmaids
Step Brothers
@DougieRams@elroy__preston@PidgeyPerico I don't agree with that but IMO, Jay had the best performance on this song along with What We Do, You Me Him & Her, Ignorant Shit, Stick 2 The Script, Parking Lot Pimpin - and Pop 4 Roc i didnt think either of them was AMAZING on that but still prefer jay'z verse
@OGbuckjoe@WastedRaiders i hear you. i don't think its goal posts moving, i just think theres a very specific taboo. your BARS. your verses your story is supposed to belong to the rapper. unlike other genres thats a CORE tenet. thats what MCing was built on telling your story.
@OGbuckjoe@WastedRaiders also this has been said 100x
Real producers have always shaped direction of a song. for example. Pharrell in the 00s almost ALWAYS gave you a hook with neptune beats. Hooks & bridges
of all the great / top MCs you never hear a reference of a verse or whole song drop.
@ScoutGuru99@EmotionlessPapi@realdripking_zw if they are struggling to pay it back via music merch etc. out of pocket or stuck forever.
but again my main point in this thread. a deal is not the label just giving you a lump sum to add to your networth - its not equivalent to a paycheck at a regular job
@ScoutGuru99@EmotionlessPapi@realdripking_zw they allocate money to you, then your music must generate enough to pay it back. (so a major artist like drake has no problem with that) but lil such & such might end up in debt if their music cant generate the money back for the label
@EmotionlessPapi@realdripking_zw no its more like a line of credit - the money is the labels. its the reason so many new artists went broke over the years or got stuck in contracts. they get say a 2 million dollar deal & think they're rich so they buy houses & cars then they realize they owe the label 2 million
@pIottw1st i said the same thing when i heard the actually album. the album version has no life now that we were introduced to this. THIS should be the album audio
@fauxfresh had it on a bootleg VHS in Jamaica one summer. But the final part was cut off so it took years for me to eventually catch it (maybe BET or on Demand) and finally see the ending
the hook on T.I.'s Lets Get Away is different in the music video and streaming version vs the cd version. i thought i had misremembered it how it went for so long and settled after a while listening to Trap Muzik on streaming.
