Coming to the Gallery for two weeks in August are Seven Winds CIC with their exhibition Pathfinders: Sunday Best, an exploration of local histories, public engagement, and portraiture, as modes of making and meaning.
The exhibitions runs from Tuesday 4 until Saturday 15 August.
The biennial RBSA Prize promotes work at the cutting edge of modern art and artists with contemporary practices are encouraged to apply.

The exhibition runs until 1 August and catalogues are available to purchase in the Gallery and from our online shop.
The RBSA Summer Show 2026 is hung and ready to open tonight.
Almost 200 artworks take pride of place over all three floors of the Gallery, and pieces include paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, and textiles.
The Preview Evening opens at 6.00pm.
Open for applications on our website is Next Generation RBSA, a programme for emerging artists who would like the opportunity to be awarded a free three-year membership of the RBSA.

Coming to the Gallery this September is the Guild of Aviation Artists with their exhibition Defence Of The Realm.
This new exhibition will feature some 180 aviation paintings and will run from 15 - 26 September.
Tomorrow is the last day to see our current exhibitions, the RBSA Portrait Prize 2026 and the RBSA Membership Small Works Exhibition. There are over 200 works to see across both shows so come on down today or tomorrow before the shows are gone for good!

The RBSA Summer Workshop programme 2026 runs from 18 - 29 August, and comprises 10 wonderful art and craft sessions suitable for adults of all abilities and experience levels.

The Next Generation RBSA programme is triennial opportunity open to early-career visual artists based within easy reach of the RBSA Gallery in Birmingham.

Coming up in August is our second heritage exhibition of the year: Largely Unseen: Works From The RBSA Permanent Collection, which will focus solely on the most substantial artworks held in the Permanent Collection.
The show runs from Tuesday 4 - Saturday 29 August.

The Gallery Shop is looking wonderfully colourful at the moment with new scarves from Heron Design Studio and ceramics by Helen Harrison. We also have large collections of jewellery, textiles, glassware, prints, books, and gift cards, so pop in today and have a browse.

Last night we welcomed our newly elected Members and Associates into the Society.
President Ed Isaacs presented each artist with their Certificate of Membership, and the evening was topped off with celebratory champagne.
