Thank you to Rachel from NAFD and to Meike, Lauren, Daniel and Alison from Co-op Funeralcare for your time. It was very clear from my visit to the Co-op's Leeds site just how much care and attention your staff give to the deceased and their families.
The Funerals and Bereavement APPG are pleased to share that the group has been reconstituted following the General Election. We held the inaugural meeting with the Chair, @CatSmithMP, to discuss the issues facing the sector and look forward to continuing our work in this area.
@Ryanair cannot find my booking and so cannot complete verification for flight. @lastminute_com told me to ‘Google’ airline number and washed hands of it. What is going on? Please help @Ryanair. Been on hold for 40 mins so far
Last Wednesday, the Funerals and Bereavement APPG met in the Palace of Westminster for an in-person session chaired by Sir Robert Goodwill. It was fantastic to welcome over 40 members of the funerals, burials & cremation industries attending from across the country. (1/2)
Our campaign to add proactive teaching about #bereavement in schools, led by @NAFDPresident, has taken another step forward. Responding to the petition @educationgovuk confirms it “will assess whether content on bereavement is needed” in RHSE lessons. https://t.co/yJQpPqG2RO
Thank you to the 100+ people that attended tonight’s webinar, hosted by @NAFDPresident John & with support from @ProjectEileen on adding #education about loss & bereavement to the #NationalCurriculum. Fantastic support & engagement! Sign the petition here: https://t.co/df5mjhJNKl
There was extensive coverage of @NAFDPresident campaign to encourage age-appropriate conversations about loss and bereavement, in schools, as part of the National Curriculum. #Funerals#FuneralDirectors

Totally support this move and the campaign by @NAFD_UK: Schools should be required to provide age-appropriate education to help children understand death as a part of life https://t.co/o42vDHp8qd
4/4: Help him get a good conversation started, one that will encourage the next generation to treat death as a part of life, not a taboo - by building a healthy understanding, vocabulary and dialogue around #grief and #bereavement. Sign here: https://t.co/df5mjhrEwd
3/4: This #GriefAwarenessWeek, can you add your name to @NAFDPresident John’s petition to include awareness of death, dying and bereavement to the @educationgovuk National Curriculum? John lost his own mum at the age of 12 and knows just how isolating this experience can be.
2/4: We teach children about when life begins, why don’t we talk about how we feel and what happens when it ends? The literary, historical, sociological and scientific topics in all four key stages are rich in natural, age-appropriate conversation starters.
