ICYMI: For too long, Alberta and Quebec have been portrayed as adversaries.
The reality is that strong provinces make for a stronger Canada. By working together, defending our constitutional jurisdiction, and advancing our shared economic interests, we can achieve far more than either province can alone.
Let’s get to work.
On this day in 1944, thousands of Allied soldiers - including nearly 14,000 Canadians -stormed the beaches of Normandy, including Juno Beach.
The sacrifice of these brave soldiers - and the service of many locals from the Okotoks and Foothills County areas during the Normandy campaign - helped protect our freedom and the country we call home.
Today we remember and honour them.
Lest we forget.

🚨 STATEMENT ON COMMUNITY SAFETY 🚨
I want to sincerely acknowledge the safety concerns that many constituents of Highwood have shared with me. As both your elected representative and a fellow member of this community, I take these concerns extremely seriously.
I understand that issues surrounding safety and security can have a profound impact, particularly in small communities where a sense of trust and well-being is essential to our quality of life. The feelings of fear and uncertainty that can arise when safety is threatened are not taken lightly. Please know that your voices have been heard, and I am committed to fostering a safe and secure environment for all community members. While this matter is before the courts, it would be inappropriate for me to comment.
Looking beyond individual cases, I remain a strong advocate for meaningful reforms within our justice system. I support stronger bail measures, a stop to the catch-and-release, revolving-door criminal system, and comprehensive justice reforms that deliver appropriate consequences for offenders and better protection for our communities. Those who repeatedly break the law must face real consequences to discourage further offences and restore public confidence in our justice system.
Bail reform and criminal law is solely a federal issue, and we urgently need policy changes that specifically address the challenge of repeat offenders. I will continue to work collaboratively with my colleagues at all levels of government to ensure the concerns of residents in Highwood are heard and federal laws reflect the needs and concerns of communities like ours. I also encourage all residents to remain vigilant, look out for one another, and cooperate with local law enforcement whenever possible. Your engagement and communication are crucial components of a safer community.
As always, I welcome your continued feedback and invite you to reach out with any further concerns or suggestions. Together, we can advocate for the changes needed to ensure our community remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

One Card. That’s it.
Starting July 2, Albertans can get a new driver’s licence or ID card that includes their healthcare number and proof of citizenship, all on one secure card at no additional cost.
No more flimsy paper cards. No more carrying multiple pieces of ID. Just a common-sense change that makes life easier.
Happy Seniors Week! This week marks a time to celebrate the seniors that have helped shape our lives and our communities. I encourage everyone to take time this week to connect with a senior in your life, or attend one of the many Seniors Week events across the province.
I’m looking forward to meeting with Premier Christine Fréchette @CFrechette in Quebec over the next two days.
Alberta and Quebec have a tremendous opportunity to work together to advance nation-building projects, strengthen Canada’s economy, and finally move forward on the infrastructure and trade corridors our country should have built years ago.
When provinces lead, great things can happen. The possibilities are endless.

During National Indigenous History Month, we take time to reflect on the contributions and history of First Nations and Métis peoples across Alberta and Canada.
I am grateful for the meaningful partnerships we share with Indigenous communities and I look forward to continuing those partnerships as we work together to build a stronger utility system that can support lasting prosperity for all who call Alberta home.
June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize the histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations and Métis Peoples.
This month offers an opportunity to learn from Indigenous voices, reflect on the enduring importance of Treaties and relationships, and acknowledge the leadership, knowledge, and perspectives that continue to shape our communities and our future.

Happy Filipino Heritage Month to Filipino Albertans - especially those who call the constituency of Highwood home.
Thank you for making our communities stronger, more vibrant and sharing your energy and culture each and every day.
As we reach the end of the month, it may be a good time to check your electricity bill. If it says the Rate of Last Resort, you could save hundreds of dollars per year by switching plans.

I'm pleased that our government, in partnership with the federal government, is investing more than $323 million to build affordable housing across the province. This will not just build housing, but stronger communities, ensuring our province remains the best place to live, work and raise a family.

Exciting day for Alberta oil and our economy. Southbow has successfully completed its open season for its 550,000 barrel per day ‘Prairie Connector’ pipeline to the United States. This means thousands of great jobs for Albertans and Canadians for pipeline construction and the new oil production facilities and operations needed to fill it.
This investment was not possible 2 years ago under Trudeau’s and Guilbeault’s economic attacks on our province. But with the Alberta-Ottawa Energy Agreement in place and those 2 terrible laws and destructive politicians gone, we are on our way!
Just another sign that Alberta has turned the tide and our future is brighter than ever.
I call on the federal government to unequivocally support this project and provide any and all necessary permits when ultimately required.

Organized crime has no place in Alberta.
Our government is investing nearly $8 million to help law enforcement crack down on gangs, extortion and criminal networks threatening Alberta families, businesses and communities.
This funding will give police agencies across the province stronger investigative tools, better coordination and more resources to target organized crime wherever it operates.
To the criminals targeting Alberta communities: we are coming after you.
To the business owners and families being intimidated or threatened: Alberta stands with you.

I joined BNN Bloomberg today to talk about the momentum coming out of this week’s Western Premiers’ Conference in Kananaskis.
Western Canada is done thinking small. From pipelines and ports to trade corridors, energy security, and major infrastructure, the West is working together to unlock our full economic potential and make sure Canada competes on the world stage again.
The West has always punched above its weight and if we want to reach our full potential, we need to think bigger and build together.
It was an honour to host Canada’s Western Premiers in beautiful Kananaskis. We won’t agree on every issue, but we all understand that a strong, prosperous West matters to the future of this country.
