Learning Whiff Punishing from Leshar
0:00-
A way to whiff punish strings designed to beat retaliation buttons.
For example, against JP’s:
https://t.co/0Q746Q41GX on block > https://t.co/oPb0pV5AQW or https://t.co/F3cMwavNdP buffer/placement
Leshar uses options such as:
walk back > crouch block > Terry https://t.co/0Q746Q41GX whiff punish
walk back > slight walk forward > Akuma st.HP whiff punish

After blocking a max range https://t.co/0Q746Q41GX,
if you simply crouch block and wait to whiff punish,
strings like:
https://t.co/0Q746Q41GX > https://t.co/F3cMwavNdP
often end up getting guarded instead.

So instead, he uses:
block https://t.co/0Q746Q41GX
walk back
slight walk forward
press HP after seeing the whiff
This makes it easier to whiff punish
both https://t.co/oPb0pV5AQW and https://t.co/F3cMwavNdP placements.
If st.HP is too difficult,
using https://t.co/dZS0R9M0sH is also fine.

However,
slightly deeper https://t.co/0Q746Q41GX
https://t.co/0Q746Q41GX
type strings can catch the walk back,
making this option lose.
@OliverMisbach Playstation 2, 3, 4, and 5 are all fine for me. I can feel where my directions are. Personally, PS3 pads felt the best because I put in the most time using them. Xbox pads and even the pads that Geese posted, are not good for me; I can't sense where my directions are.
@n2apparel I just wanted to let you know that your Dan hoodie has a Japanese spelling mistake. Dan is written as ダシ when it should be ダン. I really want your Alpha Ryu and Ken hoodie so please sell more!
