In 1994, an American friend told me #Rwandan-s were 2 serious 2 excel at music, art or sports. He had not factored @PaulKagame into his calculations!!!
RWANDA OFFERED STAKE IN DANGOTE’S PROPOSED $16BN KENYAN REFINERY
Dangote Group has offered Kenya, Ethiopia and Rwanda a combined 30% stake in its proposed $16 billion oil refinery in Kenya. Rwanda has expressed interest in taking a stake alongside the two countries.
The refinery is expected to process about 600,000 barrels of crude daily from Kenya and Uganda, with groundbreaking targeted for September. The regional investment could reach about $1.5 billion. #FactsOnRwanda
This is Rusizi port nearing completion, set to boost trade, connectivity and economic growth
Once operational, the port will strengthen regional connectivity, facilitate cross-border trade, support tourism, and drive economic growth along Lake Kivu. Everything Works when the Politics is Right
Do you not see the problem? When they cross regional borders, you call it illegal smuggling despite regional agreements n certification mechanisms. When they cross into Brussels or Antwerp, it is'legal' trade. My question remains intact.
Simple, @rsezibera: Minerals are not illegally smuggled into Brussels or Antwerp, while they are into #Rwanda and #Uganda, from where they reach international markets. Answer on a Thursday morning😉.
The National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) has revealed that, over a one-year period, it trained 21,721 women in Nyabihu District on how to use financial services through its ‘Gendana Konti’ initiative, with 6,934 of them opening Mobile Money accounts and others reactivating inactive accounts.
The figures were announced on July 31, 2026, during the closing ceremony of the BNR-led Gendana Konti project at the district level in Nyabihu.
The event was attended by Western Province Governor Jean Bosco Ntibitura, BNR Governor Soraya Hakuziyaremye, and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion (MIGEPROF), Mireille Batamuriza.
I am not shifting the debate. I operate on the premise that the traceability mechanisms established with agreement of all regional governments work. That shd settle the question of origin , leaving my initial question intact.
Richard, I think you’re shifting the debate.
The issue has never been where the minerals are refined.
The real issue is how they are obtained.
No one criticizes Belgium, Israel, or the United States for purchasing Congolese minerals when those minerals are legally exported with the authorization of the Congolese government.
The situation is entirely different, however, when some of those minerals originate from territories controlled by armed groups or from areas whose control is disputed. This is precisely the issue addressed in numerous international reports documenting Rwanda’s role in the conflict in eastern DRC.
And this is where your argument breaks down.
You replace the essential question — “How were these minerals obtained?” — with another one: “Where are they refined?”
Those are not the same question.
International law does not prohibit the trade of minerals. It prohibits the exploitation of resources obtained through illegal occupation, support for armed groups, or violations of another state’s sovereignty.
As long as you avoid that central question, you’re not addressing the substance of the debate. You’re simply changing the subject.
Ok..so when #DRC minerals are refined and sold in Brussels, tel aviv,London or new York, it is international trade but shd the same happen in the region including #rwanda, it is exploitation. Make this make sense!
Questions on a Thursday morning.
There are over 10 million rwandans. Why does the,#DRC govt feel compelled 2 support the most murderous genocidal lot currently known as the fdlr?
Questions on an August wednesday!
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kampeta Pitchette Sayinzoga @Ksayinzoga as Chief Executive Officer of @AFRwanda, effective 1 August 2026.

Her experience in institution building, partnership development and inclusive finance will be invaluable as AFR continues to expand its impact.
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Kampeta to the AFR family.
Rwanda; I have put in place defensive measures to protect my territory and my people.
World; remove them or we sanction you!
What kind of diplomacy is this?
Is it better to be dead or sanctioned?
Questions on a lovely tuesday!!
#rwanda-n troops serve with distinction every where they are deployed. Yet there are those who have made it their mission to besmirch them. They will not succeed!
July 21, I had the honor of paying tribute to the #Rwandan contingent of @UN_CAR at the end of their mission in our country. I expressed, on behalf of our people, gratitude for their professionalism, dedication, and contribution to peace and security. Thank you for your service.
“To the entire police force: This anniversary is a moment to reflect and renew your commitment to the standards and values, that define this institution.
This is what will preserve and deepen the trust that Rwandans have in you and their collaboration.” President Kagame | 25th Anniversary of Rwanda National Police and Officer Cadets Commissioning Ceremony.
First Lady Jeannette Kagame has called on leaders to take a stronger stand against genocide ideology, hate speech, and misinformation, and reject narratives that distort the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
