@_sahand @PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind It’s hard to believe bc 1. They’re incapable of reaching the US and have a fairly weak military apparatus compared to the US and 2. They’re not attacking us or their neighbors. Yes the regime is awful to the Iranian people but that’s not a lawful reason to go to war
@_sahand @PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind Well I just don’t believe the IRGC is suicidal. There’s a reason North Korea, China, and Russia don’t attack us. They know the consequences: complete evisceration. I’m on the side of diplomacy and always will be
@_sahand @PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind But I pray for you @_sahand what has happened in Iran is terrible and I do not want to see any death and destruction in the world. As a Catholic that’s very important to me.
I just do not believe it’s prudent for the US to get involved. I hope the Iranian people find peace.
@PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind Really? How much more debt do you think our country takes on in a drawn out war with Iran? What do you think that does to the already abysmal economy in the US? It’s called opportunity cost. Spending money on foreign wars over domestic initiatives is what’s killing our country.
@_sahand @PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind I know that Iran is not a threat to the United States and starting a long military conflict is against the US best interest. That I know for a fact.
@PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind What exactly are we bending over and taking? What has Iran done to the US that supports us bombing them? 600 killed soldiers over 50 years? Perhaps the US should rethink its foreign policy and stop wasting money on foreign military bases putting soldiers in harms way.
@_sahand @PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind And that is bc of US involvement in the 1970s at the behest of the UK along with the sanctions imposed on Iran effectively cutting them out of the global economy. My overall point is the US has enough problems, we don’t need to fight illegal wars and lose focus at home any more.
@_sahand @PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind I fundamentally disagree with a lot of this. The Ayatollah has been on the record many times as being against nuclear weapons. They’re proliferating ICBMs and Nukes as a deterrent to Israeli and American imperialism. That’s why North Korea still exists and isn’t Libya.
@_sahand @PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind Now when the Ayatollah dies, could the next regime be more aggressive? Sure. I know for a fact there are more hawkish Iranians within the IRGC that hold the beliefs you’re stating. But it’s important to go back through history and understand why Iran is in the state they are now
@PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind Every argument you’ve made is boomer Fox News Slop. Iran is incapable of bombing the US. But sure, they’re our greatest threat. The same neocons and Israelis have been saying they’re close to a nuke for 40 years. Keep falling for propaganda. Study harder.
@PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind We’re approaching $40 trillion in debt. The average homebuyer is 45 years old. Our govt is cutting healthcare for a large number of Americans to fund tax cuts for the wealthy. The middle class is disappearing.
But sure, let’s go fight a war with a country 6k miles away.
@PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind You’re clueless. The Ukrainian flag is a dead giveaway. Nobody is scapegoating Israel. This war is in their best interest, not in ours. Go study history before you come back from the kid’s table.
@PhilRages @ordinary900@CloutedMind And the imperialist neocon mindset has cost countless young Americans lives, trillions in debt, and the destruction of the American dream. I wouldn’t expect a college student to understand this having not lived through it.
@ordinary900 @PhilRages @CloutedMind No comebacks? Iran is no threat to the US. They are a threat to Israel and the formation of Greater Israel, their stated intention. So they need daddy to come in and bomb their enemies. And I and a majority of Americans say enough.
@PhilRages @CloutedMind Iran has been 3 months away from a nuke since 1984. Just like Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. And guess who was the “expert witness,” who created that lie? The same guy trying to get us to attack Iran again today.
@PhilRages @CloutedMind It certainly isn’t the US’s war. I see from your profile that you’re in college. Study up and read some books. You have a lot to learn.
@PhilRages @CloutedMind Who’s obsessed? Has their Prime Minister come directly to the White House 7 times in one year to beg for us to attack their greatest adversary in the region, or has he not?
