@HerculesRearden The Tokyo trains made 5 stops in other cities in that 2 hours. And I mean St Louis to Orland is about 1000 mi, so 1600km. That would be closer to 6.5 hours with the same amount of stops. Much faster than 48 hr Amtrak.
