"And to actually do the science, to solve scientific mysteries, we need to bring to the table as many different points of view as possible.” – María-José Viñas Garcia, Spanish Communications Lead for Science

You didn't get trained to be a remote teacher in college.
You didn't get taught remotely when you were growing up.
Give yourself a break. You will get better over time.

Today I'm endorsing @JoeBiden for President of the United States.
I encourage all like-minded Republicans to get on the right side of history and do the same.

There is new survey data showing that we have some communities in NC where more than 80% of people are ALWAYS wearing a face covering in public. THANK YOU!
We want to see this in every community and we want to get that number up to 100% in all our counties.

I try to ignore the president's tweets, but today's was truly awful and deserves some attention.
Put aside that we need more - not less - affordable housing.
His political purpose was simple racism. That's why he phrased it like that.
Let's not deny the obvious.
Please help Latinx/Hispanics in the landscaping and other contracting jobs. They go from job to job together in vehicles with no masks. In hot weather many take breaks in these vehicles. Please educate their employers on how to protect these valuable workers from covid spread.
North Carolina’s Latinx/Hispanic population is being disproportionately impacted by #COVID19. As of mid-July, our Latinx/Hispanic population represent 44% of cases, although they make up 9% of NC’s population.

.@CMSboard votes 7-1 to bring students back for small-group in-person orientation for two weeks in August, then move into all-remote instruction for an indefinite time.
As NC plans to reopen schools, some teachers don’t want to ‘put our lives on the line.’ They say #NCGA should provide more money to help schools meet DHHS safety requirements or schools should stick with remote learning. #nced#ncpol#coronavirus https://t.co/XhVMej8U6C

"There is no 'one size fits all' approach to this work. There are, however, a number of things schools should consider as they create objectives for the short and long term future."

Second misconception re #COVID: A #vaccine will be a magic bullet- it won't. Likely only partially effective (like flu vaccine), may need >1 dose, & will take time to manufacture at scale. At first, will be scarce. #COVID19 vaccine belongs to the world. We'll need 6 bil doses.
My story: Hundreds of millions of syringes will be needed for a COVID vaccine next year. The Trump administration is relying largely on two small medical supply companies with little track record of fulfilling government orders of that magnitude.
