I am begging the Yankees to put Caballero back at short. Volpe is hurting them with these plays. I’m not sure if this is true but it *feels* like his arm is worse now. They have to make the change.
Volpe has shown he still cannot hit. Caballero is the better all around player and way better defender. No reason for AV to get shortstop reps here. None. Why is this still happening?
@DanClarkSports Come on dan!! Besides the year that judge is hurt (now) when has ohtani ever been a hitter than judge? You’re glazing at this point. Pull up the stats.
Aaron Judge said he kept playing because guys like Stanton and Max Fried were hurt and the #Yankees needed him and this is what they pay him for.
Then I gotta listen to people say he’s not a leader and a captain. That’s what a leader and a captain does.
Let’s be honest about something else too. A guy sits out with something that’s perceived to be minor and he gets killed for not being tough enough. Aaron Judge played through a broken freakin rib and it’s “why didn’t he say anything sooner”.
It’s unfortunate and we’re gonna miss watching this guy play baseball for the next couple of months but I don’t fault him or the Yankees for how any of this was handled.

Rare in position players. Jared Walsh and Mike Zunino are examples. More common in pitchers.
Recovery 9-10 months. Most never fully return to pre-injury ability, despite surgery.
