@ryangrim@EmmaVigeland@lyndseyfifield Interesting that y'all haven't been as meticulous vetting Platner as you are attacking anyone who criticizes him.
@zei_squirrel I would argue Isreal is an American hegemony project rather than the other way around. Other administrations were more subtle about it; this one is more obvious and clumsy, so folks like AOC and Sanders, etc., are needed for more subtle massaging of the message.
@Jasper_Craven@EmmaVigeland Platner voluntarily joined the military "to have an adventure and kill people." The American military is an imperialist hegemonic tool, not an entity for defense of lofty ideals, and participation should be discouraged and criticized, not lauded and mythologized.
@EmmaVigeland Platner is a liar, a creep, an unrepentant war criminal, and that should have been enough to disqualify him, but y'all bent over backwards to do his moral laundry. He's not authentic; he's manufactured to appeal to libs like you. It obviously works really well.
@TheKavernacle BE had legitimate criticism of FD's Palestine and Platner stances, but his brand is inflammatory and overly confrontational rhetoric rather than communicating in a way that might foster better understanding.
@TheKavernacle Giving terrible people a huge platform to rehab their image is apparently a significant part of the job for Piker, Zeteo, The Majority Report, etc. Principles aren't high on their or their audiences' priority lists.
@R3mus16@jamesstout I've only heard one person talk about those particular posts. All his sycophantic supporters ignore those and talk about the stupid meaningless ones and the right-wingers just focus on the tattoo for simplicity.
