hello everyone, kamber here. first of all, I want to wish everyone a happy new year. this is my favorite holiday - I love fresh starts, new chapters, new possibilities, even when it’s hard, painful, or scary.
it’s time to finally set the bird free. 🗝️
the echoed effect of this goodbye is certainly not over. I have many more things to share, but until then 🤍 k
I also want to say thank you.
thank you to anyone who has ever come to a show, bought a cd (yes, we’ve been around that long), rocked a tee shirt, prayed for us, laughed with us, vibed with us. You know who you are, and the gratitude is forever.
Raviner was always about freedom. It was always about transformation, healing, meeting the dark with the light, dancing and grooving in the chaos, letting the light pour into the deepest ravines (see what I did there?)

and make no mistake whatsoever - while this project had multiple seasons where I carried it alone, this absolutely could not have been possible without my bandmates that supported, co-created, and danced in the chaos with me.
after multiple releases, hundreds of shows played, dozens of cities toured, unforgettable memories made, I have made the decision to end this incredible chapter in my life.
I had a lot of artistic angst. Songs that were heavier, moodier, and a bit darker than my initial collection of confessional solo tunes. I felt drawn to a deeper and more visceral musical expression.
I was fascinated by the ancient symbolism and mythology of the raven, especially from a Biblical perspective when I was trying to solidify the name of the project alongside my primary creative collaborator, romantic partner, and co-founder of the band at that time.
ten years ago, i formed a band called Raviner, which is an antiquated french word for “to hollow out”, or “to pillage”. It’s closely related to the word “ravine” as well as deep symbolism tied to the word “raven” itself.
