This superb Shield, a treasured part of our school's history, was first presented in 1895 to the winner of the annual House Cricket Competition. It was generously gifted by Joseph Sydenham, a significant local benefactor and founder of Reading FC.

Did you know? In 1937, the Southern Counties Chess Union awarded Reading School a prestigious shield, recognizing it as one of the leading chess schools in the UK! The shield later became the prize for our House Chess Championship.
#RSThrowbackThursday to the incredible journey of Joseph Wells (OR 1871 - 1875). As one of the first intake of students at Erleigh Road, he became Vice Chancellor of Oxford University and served as Chairman of Governors and President of the Old Redingensians Club for 30 years.
I was honoured to attend the Junior Prize Giving event at Reading School @readingsch yesterday afternoon. It's important to acknowledge students' academic achievements to support their future success.

#RSThrowbackThursday to the unveiling of the bust of Henry VII by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in May 1986. This stunning piece was created by renowned sculptor and former parent Martin Lorenz. It can be found in Big School where it belongs.
