This superb Shield, a treasured part of our school's history, was first presented in 1895 to the winner of the annual House Cricket Competition. It was generously gifted by Joseph Sydenham, a significant local benefactor and founder of Reading FC.

Did you know? In 1937, the Southern Counties Chess Union awarded Reading School a prestigious shield, recognizing it as one of the leading chess schools in the UK! The shield later became the prize for our House Chess Championship.

Discover the legacy of The Old Kendricks’ Association President, J W Dodgson, through his engraved badge featuring a black lion rampant. Although the school closed in 1915, its spirit lives on through OKA and OR Club.
