When ticket prices are so high you lose the real fans and cater mostly to corporations who use it as a tax write off or a way to entertain clients, which completely changes the atmosphere.
But thanks for the economics lesson, Mike!
The #SFGiants announced today that they have reassigned third base coach Hector Borg to a new role within their player development staff. Ron Wotus will fill the third base coaching role on an interim basis until the organization identifies a permanent replacement.
Congrats, @jerrymcd! Hell of a run! We’ll always have that night at Laverne’s Lakeside Tavern or whatever it was called when we were in Indiana to cover Stanford-Notre Dame.
For first time in 45 years a newspaper schedule doesn't have my name on it as of June 1. My call. The profession enabled me to meet my wife and have a family. Everything else pales in comparison, but it was a pretty cool way to make a living . . . thanks for reading . . .
A dreaded day for #CBJ. One of the game’s true gentlemen, and the Columbus Blue Jackets’ most ardent supporter, Bill Davidge passed away on Tuesday.
Much love and enduring peace to his beautiful family.
RIP, Dapper. “You better believe it.”
So happy about this. @bcraw35 is perhaps my all-time favorite athlete to watch. The part about seeing him everyday rings so true. An absolute joy to watch him play shortstop.
Brandon Crawford is a Bay Area icon. Now he’s joining its greatest athletes in Hall of Fame - why he's the ideal member of the local sports Hall, with thoughts from Crawford, Ron Wotus, Crawford's HS football coach and one of his pals: https://t.co/wpml65wbF3 via @sfchronicle
Covered a few things, including Stanford women’s hoops, with Dwight over the years. A truly wonderful man. Unlike so many sportswriters, he had absolutely zero ego. #RIP
Orel Hershiser joined the show today and he was fabulous! If you can get past your Dodgers biased, there’s some incredible stuff on here! He gives his thoughts on Landon Roupp. Compares two Italian mangers, Lasorda and Vitello. Tremendous insight on Ohtani and his routine and work ethic. The best part I thought was taking us all inside the Dodgers culture and the lengths they go to be great. Easily, my fave show yet

The Blue Jays bused from Phoenix to Anaheim yesterday because their plane had mechanical issues.
Players voted to bus rather than wait for another plane to arrive, but manager John Schneider said he was still "reprimanded by Max (Scherzer) for electing to travel that way," receiving a formal Kangaroo Court summons.
"We're going to go to trial," said Schneider.
He was the Captain of the New York Yankees.
At the peak of his career…
everything was over in an instant.
Most people remember how it ended.
Almost no one remembers just how dominant he really became.

Meet one of my favorite students: Kiarra (aka Kiwi)
As kind as she is talented. She was paralyzed as a passenger in a car accident. But the life-altering trauma didn’t take her spirit.
Please show her some love. I’ll share your replies with her.

When John Schneider arrived back at his #BlueJays office last week, he found a letter sitting on his desk. It waited for him all winter.
It came from 9x NBA Champion Steve Kerr.
Unlocked & free to read, here's the story of that letter: https://t.co/ULsSfxtmEx
