@PeterByardDavis@HelenClarkNZ I think that much of the local reporting in NZ lacks global context, or worse, borrows grievances from other countries and applies them here for narrative purposes
@Tradermayne I think BTC can run more over the next few days as ETFs start trading, but not up only forever. Correction soon, when people start to get comfortable that we're heading well above $50k. After correction, head to ATH etc
@42MacroAware Morning DD, interesting decision from my 'local' CB, the RBNZ, today. Dovishly surprising the market by clearly signalling today's rate increase was the last they intend to do, and that they intend to hold here for multiple months. In contrast to the RBA pause/resume last month
@42MacroAware Thanks Darius, look forward to that in ATH. I feel like many people are seeing what they want to see? Desperate for the return of QE, and the resumption of up only markets. This sentiment is enough to cause a strong rally in BTC, but probably not sustainable...
@42MacroAware Thanks Darius, appreciate your replies and all of your hard work 🙏 Am trying to make the most of the opportunity to learn during this tumultuous time in markets
@ELGuapoTheH @42MacroAware I heard some say that assets classed as hold-to-maturity are not able to be hedged under accounting rules (as that is a contradiction). But itwas SVB’s decision to classify them that way in the first place to avoid their value being marked to market (masking losses)
@42MacroAware Darius, it seems like the US Govt has acted quickly and broadly to address this whole area of potential weakness in the banking system, even if more failures come to light. Therefore, Fed has their way clear to continue with QT and rate rises as they see fit. Do you agree?
@MitchKlee_@PrestonPysh I don’t understand why one needs to ‘decide’ between the two? Own some of both, according to your risk tolerance, and you will most likely do well in the coming few years.
@PrestonPysh Why all the hate in the comments? She’s achieved a lot in her life, right? I guess people may be ill informed and make assumptions based on the WEF banner..?
@josephwang@Stimpyz1 From the second paragraph, we are “early on” in a new innovation cycle. Seems like positive language, and positive that the speech was even written and delivered at all - this all lends wider credibility to the sector
@aaronmcdnz Very obvious difference in the tone of comms that come out from Yuga vs Flufworld etc ecosystem. Flippant/dismissive/bare minimum comms vs real engagement and founder/dev involvement. Am fortunate to be part of both communities but will be sticking with @flufworld etc long term
