🚨 New report out from #RECOMB 2025!

The project highlights the latest advances in developing an innovative gene therapy for RAG1-SCID, a rare and life-threatening form of severe combined immunodeficiency.

🔬 Funded by the @europeanunion, RECOMB united experts across Europe to explore the use of genetically corrected autologous stem cells as an alternative to conventional transplantation.

📑 The new report shares initial clinical results, scientific progress, and future perspectives—offering hope for a breakthrough that could transform care for patients with this ultra-rare disease.

We congratulate @vallhebron in Barcelona, who recently received ethical approval for the Recomb trial and can now treat patients!
With both Wroclaw and London in the advanced stages of the protocol, we hope to see additional clinical sites approved soon. #Recomb #GeneTherapy

We are pleased to share that we have successfully recruited the second patient! The patient was diagnosed with RAG1-SCID via newborn screening.
To date, two months after the treatment, the patient is in a good condition while awaiting immune recovery.
