Just got a call from a friend in my town …

To sum it up - an older man had a stroke in my town and can’t take care of his dog. There’s no information about how old the dog is, name, breed, etc. looks mixed breed to me.

They tell me he’s very friendly. I can’t take another rescue right now, because I have 10, and Pedro is old and needs extra care.

Here’s some pictures, if anyone is interested, I’ll pay the initial vet bills, he probably needs some care.

I volunteer at a local cat shelter.

There is a special room for senior cats over 6 years old.

One day, a cat I had never seen before came to me while I was sitting on the floor.

He climbed into my lap on his own.

Other staff said this was strange because the cat, Gideon, had never approached people before.

Records showed he had moved through many shelters after Hurricane Ida.

He had been given up as unwanted and spent a long time in shelters.

After four months in our rescue, he still stayed very quiet and unnoticed.

I decided to take him home and renamed him Howard Gabapentin.

For the first two months, he was scared and mostly hid.

Slowly, he began to feel safe.

One day, he came out and sat in the middle of the room.

He again came into my lap like before.

Since then, he has become very loving and cuddly.

He likes attention, enjoys kisses, and watches movies with us.

Sometimes he still gets scared, but he is learning to trust.

I feel lucky to have him and have learned patience and love from him.

He will never be unwanted again.

A friend just told me that two Chinese nationals living at their house while attending SDSU received California voter ballots in the mail.

When confronted the Chinese nationals said people on campus INSISTED they fill out voter registration paperwork.
