FLUSHING FIRE UPDATE 🚨🔥 -- Flames tore through three buildings at 132-15 41st Road—between College Point Boulevard and Frame Place in Downtown Flushing—sending thick, black smoke rolling across the neighborhood. 🚨🔥

About 270 @FDNY fire and EMS personnel responded as Rescue 4 pushed through high heat and zero visibility to rescue an occupant from the second floor, Chief Kevin Woods said.

Twenty-one people were injured—17 firefighters, two EMS members and two civilians. EMS Chief Stacy Scanlon says one civilian is in serious condition; the remaining injuries are non-life-threatening.

The five-alarm fire was put out after roughly four hours. About a dozen residents are displaced, @redcrossny is assisting and FDNY fire marshals are investigating the cause. #1010WINS
