The Church of believers at Corinth was carnal, remained babes along after they should be teachers.
It is not being suggested that one should remain without modification, simply stating the reality that change in behavior is not automatic.
Saved and carnal= saved nonetheless.
“knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law;
for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.”
Galatians 2:16
Believe the gospel to receive eternal life, born of the Spirit event takes place instantly.
❌turning from sins
Good work AFTER
❌work to earn God's 🎁eternal life
Salvation is the gift of God — it’s not something we earn or maintain, and it is eternal / everlasting — it lasts forever. God made salvation simple. Jesus did all the work. When we trust in what He has accomplished for us on the cross, we are saved forever.
@_Clark_Shepherd@falthman71@LHOGGavriel@mmamasaidd@AmericaTex4ever Nothing in what I shared=
encouragement ❌2 grow, ❌ 2be a disciple, ❌ 2 change behavior unbecoming of the gospel, ❌ to put off the old man/put on the new.
Never encouraged anyone 2 sin or claimed sin comes with❌ consequence.
Salvation is ❌ discipleship
❌all walk God's way
@BrysonGray@BrysonGray James 2:10 KJV
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and YET OFFEND IN ONE POINT, HE IF GUILTY OF ALL.
Galatians 2:21 KJV
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COME BY THE LAW, THEN CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN.
The law does not save.
The cross is not a symbol of self-salvation; it is a symbol of sacrifice. It reminds us that Jesus took our curse, our sin, and our death sentence upon Himself.
When Jesus said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matt. 16:24), He called us to deny ourselves—not to trust ourselves. The call is away from self-reliance and toward Him.
The cross points to substitutionary atonement. It points to Christ bearing what we deserved so that we might receive what He earned. Through faith in Him we are justified, reconciled, and sanctified before God.
It is not about becoming worthy enough for Christ.
It is about Christ being worthy for us.
Likewise, when Paul speaks of running the race and finishing the course, he is not describing a payment plan for salvation. He is describing a life of faith focused on Christ. The race is run because salvation has been received, not in order to obtain it.
Jesus is the prize. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. The focus of the Christian life is not confidence in our performance, but confidence in His finished work.
John 6:47 KJV “Verily, verily, I (Jesus) say unto you, He that believeth on me HATH (present tense possession) EVERLASTING LIFE.” // 1 John 5:13 KJV “…that ye may KNOW (certainty) that ye HAVE (present tense possession) ETERNAL LIFE…”
