🇷🇺🇪🇸🇫🇷 U.S. intelligence has reportedly warned that Russia could launch drone strikes on Spain, France and Italy from merchant ships in the Mediterranean.

U.S. agencies allegedly put together a detailed report on the possible operation, which would see Russian drones hidden in cargo containers and launched from international waters, roughly 125 to 190 miles offshore.

The drones reportedly carry enough to start fires, damage equipment or temporarily shut down a port or airport. No specific targets were named.

France seems to be taking it seriously. Macron convened his Defense Council on Sept 16, then summoned the leaders of every political party to the Élysée 2 days later.

Poland's Tusk has also admitted receiving a warning about Russian attacks on countries arming Ukraine.

The Czech Republic's spy chief says a Russian incursion on NATO territory could come in "months, not years," though Latvia's security service says it sees no signs of an imminent attack.

Europe was already watching its eastern border, and now it might need to watch the horizon too.

The far-right are "protesting" in Gosport and because of Danny Tommo and there's a Polish immigrant amongst them saying that he doesn't want asylum-seekers here and he's calling for them to be shot.

The comment from a DUP MLA was interesting. He claimed the Lisneal pitch story was 'completely debunked'.

Let's have a wee looky-loo at that claim.

But first, what I proved in time-consuming investigations over many months rolling on from the Lisneal went far beyond one school. I know (believe me, I know) people like to attack, belittle, downplay and deplatform Derry journalists, but a ROTTEN system was exposed.

🔴One where rules apply to some schools and not others.
🔴One where serious roofing applications can be left years until the structure is at risk of falling on the heads of children.
🔴One where you can skip the queue if individual officials or a Minister say so.
🔴One where a Minister will look at how you can get a sports dome in the same city where children don't have the basics in their own schools.
🔴One where, in 2026, children in an Irish Medium school in Derry can be left in rotting huts because the department/EA have allowed the condition to worsen to the point there is a £1.4million maintenance backlog — a school where children have to use an outdoor toilet and have no sports facilities or canteen.
🔴One where Derry can go 14+ years without ever getting funding for a new-build school.
🔴One where, in Derry city, two traditionally Protestant secondary schools can get millions more in funding that eight majority Catholic secondary schools.
🔴Widening it out further: one where hundreds of roofing applications from a 2017 list are not progressed.
🔴And one where the department talks of scrapping that 2017 list behind closed doors — before they've even progressed the top 550 projects THE DEPARTMENT ITSELF said were the most serious.

So, let's not make silly claims. Foul play was exposed at Lisneal and much more.

It appears some create their own reality; they seem to be of the mistaken belief that because the Minister got a certain journalist on side and because the account of a tearful principal was broadcast — that it magically changed facts that I reported about Lisneal College.

NOT ONE WORD I WROTE WAS INACCURATE. NOT ONE!

Feelings don't change facts.

Because the principal had power & influential individuals in his corner it made people sympathise with him.

He did okay. He was appointed to one of the biggest, best-paying education roles in the North around the same time.

Efforts were made to get the Minister out of a jam and to stitch me up as an unknown reporter from Derry (yes, not part of the Belfast clique). It didn't work for anyone who looked at the story objectively rather than with bias towards a certain political party and/or animosity towards me.

Unfortunately for them, I didn't let online attacks, spurious claims and attempts to undermine my work deter me from chasing and writing stories I believe to be in the public interest. Those who aimed to damage my reputation (a Foyle MLA and journalist or two included through the framing of their stories) disproved NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH.
