@Eh_Canada_Goose@SteveRae11@MonteMcNaughton@MarkJCarney I'm not the one bent over by the government. You're desperately hoping that one of these days they'll give you a reach around.
Because you're retarded, I'll spell it out for you:
They won't give you one
@yegwave No. We do have a problem with our "fellow Canadians" who let feelings override rational thought and who are far too consumed with trying to be right at any cost that they've never considered that they're almost certainly wrong.
Fuck them, Alberta shall be free
!!!PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
This pedo is living in Blackfalds with his mom and SON by an outdoor pool, playgrounds and schools.
Parents be aware!!
GET HIM THE FUCK OUT NOW!!!
I’m all for folks pointing out the potential risks of Alberta separating. That’s a healthy part of the debate.
But this whole “the separation debate is killing investment” argument is complete BS. Every economic indicator says the exact opposite. Every. Single. One.
Muzzling important discussions is foolish. Have a free and open debate and trust Albertans to make the right decision.
Surrey, British Columbia:
Canadians used to worry about running into bears while enjoying the outdoors, now their biggest worry is running into Punjabis.
@GailSmithlegal@GuillaumeGignac@AlexFrenzel_@GunOwnersofCana You're statistically more likely to commit a violent crime than I am. Those are the facts.
We should probably start throwing people like you in prison to prevent any chance of you committing violent crimes.
If it saves even one life, it'll be worth it
@GunOwnersofCana I’ve been a cop 18 years. Never arrested a PAL holder committing an offence with their firearm. Many of us have our own firearms that are now banned. The confiscation scheme is complete waste. PAL holders are not the problem.
Well, what a load of guff.
Most of this has been dealt with a number of times and much of it has been explicitly dealt with in the Value of Freedom.
1. You make the presumption that Alberta would automatically assume a population proportionate share of Canada's debt.
That is highly unlikely as the position would be from an accounting position that only the investments made that directly benefitted Alberta or created an asset of value in Alberta are for Alberta's account.
You also do not note that the net retained tax is greater than $25b, so whatever the interest cost might be would be well within that funding capability.
2. Please explain why it would cost $93b to set up a trade agreement with a country which has already indicated their willingness to sign an open trade arrangement with an independent Alberta, namely the USA. >80% of Alberta trade goes there.
Also explain the difference between the complex schemes required to manage the auto industry trade when compared to the much simpler oil and energy commodity trading which forms Alberta's exports.
International export of oil is a well trodden path, not needing any material negotiation or costs as you wrongly point out.
3. The federal transfers supporting all the items you mentioned OAS, CPP, EI and others have been accounted for in the Value of Freedom as the money to cover those transfers comes from Alberta and is then returned by transfer.
Even after accounting for those and other transfers, the net tax retained by an independent Alberta is still over $25b.
4. You make an assumption that an independent Alberta would seek NATO membership.
It is more likely that, similar to Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and Malta all of whom have military spending under 1% of GDP, that an independent Alberta would be non-aligned but cooperate with NATO at the level Alberta sees as suitable.
We had estimated $5b (1% of GDP) plus $2b initial set up costs, which is more plausible, considering the Russians are not coming to invade Alberta.
Anything else?
@cspotweet
The confiscations have begun in Manitoba.
Public Safety Canada’s Mobile Collections Units are now setting up outside local RCMP detachments. Firearm owners who have declared newly banned firearms are being directed to attend by appointment, where the handoff is completed curbside without owners even having to get out of their vehicles. RCMP reservists are doing the work. @CanadasNFA
