I did a festival once in Asheville. Daphnique Springs came into the green room. I saw she was playing a game on her phone. I said some small talk bullshit “Bored already?” She looked up at me like this… it threw me into a spiral

Advice I wish I got when I started:
If you were the sort of black student that the teacher picked on and your non black classmates gaslit you, don’t expect that shit to change as an adult in entertainment. Your best of friends will say “well you must have done something”
Advice I wish someone gave me when I started: People will convince you that you need their help. Not help. Then when you follow up about their promise for help, make you feel a way for asking.
Yall do know that you can fast forward parts of a roast that you don’t like right? Like when they call the name of someone you can’t stomach you can just skip them completely and protect your peace. I did that for like 2 comics during funny af because I knew they wouldn’t advance
Only talking about this because I’m sick of hearing about it. Who cares if the audience is micd or not? They’re filming it for your dumb ass. Did you laugh? Did you think? Do you need a laugh track to keep up with tv shows? Just tell me you’re a Chuck Lorre fan.
It’s a lot of old black man that deserve an apology. When they were wearing those big ol Bluetooth headphones we used to pick on them. Now I lose my mind if I lose my ear bud
