@jennineak @nookyelur @Lamis_Deek Zionism is Jewish self determination. It’s Jewish supremacy as much as Palestinian self determination is Palestinian supremacy.
@BarbaraMulvaney Wait didn’t the Houthis recently take UN staff hostage? And now you’re rooting for them to shoot down civilian jets? I hope the relevant authorities lock you up.
@HenMazzig Thank you so much for this. These two are doing the hard work that all of us in the land will hopefully someday benefit from. We don’t always have to agree, but we need to see and respect each other. 🤍
@e_wiskey@HenMazzig It’s not neutral to participate in Hamas propaganda ceremonies and sign “certificates” for released hostages. There’s also their history during the Holocaust…
@FranceskAlbs@NABEELRAJAB And what about all of the testimonies from Jews saying otherwise? Or you only listen to the minority of Jews who hold your viewpoint? That’s called tokenization.
@IMDibe@elicalebon Charlie, I’m going to sleep now (for real this time). I’ll wake up tomorrow and continue to do the work on the ground, because it’s the right thing to do. With or without the approval of the pro-Palestinian movement and their purity tests.✌🏼
@IMDibe@elicalebon This screenshot is demonstrating exactly what I meant about other issues in the movement besides antisemitism. Hypocrisy. Voting for a candidate who supports genocide to show that genocide is wrong.
@IMDibe@elicalebon This is the pro-Palestinian version of “but do you condemn Hamas?” I’m gonna go to sleep because I’ll probably be woken up by rocket alarms before 4am. Goodnight ✌🏼
@IMDibe@elicalebon Week after week I’m protesting in Jerusalem, TLV, the West Bank (was doing it long before 7/10) to end the occupation while also running to the bomb shelter every other day but yes CHARLIE IN NEW YORK you’re doing so much more than me, a fraud.
@IMDibe@elicalebon I’m a fraud? I’m protesting with my body and voice IN both Israel and Palestine for YEARS. But yes my actions mean nothing because a guy on Twitter told me so.
@IMDibe@elicalebon They felt comfortable sharing with me (probably because I’m not Jewish) and tried to backtrack when I called them out on it. Every time. There are problems with the movement in addition to antisemitism which is why I don’t align with it. I’m still pro-Palestinian.
@IMDibe@elicalebon What I’m doing isn’t fair? Saying I’ve seen and heard antisemitism within the movement go unchecked? I’m happy to share with you things that have been said to my face when people think they’re talking to someone who will blindly agree with them.
@IMDibe@elicalebon I’ve been active in the pro-Palestinian sphere for more than a decade. Everything I say comes from my own lived experience, including rallies I’ve attended and things people have said to my face.
@snarkademic I’m not Jewish and live in Israel. When I’m in Palestinian cities I just say I’m an American visiting. The things that’ve been said to my face would shock you, including “the Holocaust was good because sometimes a people need to be cleansed.” There’s insane people on both sides.
@IMDibe@elicalebon You can only use “it’s one person” so many times. The movement needs to take responsibility for and condemn the violent and antisemitic actions that come from it - not doing so delegitimizes a legitimate cause.
@IMDibe@elicalebon They don’t reject it, that’s the problem. It’s always “Zionist plants” or some other excuse not to take responsibility for the actions of their group. Which is why I’ve always been pro-Palestinian, I’ve NEVER aligned myself with the pro-Palestinian movement.
@chewie2023@aziz0nomics Zionism is filled with a WIDE array of opinions, considering it simply means “Jewish self determination” - for everything beyond that, there is no consensus. Only people who don’t know what Zionism is would ask this question.
