Just like Canadian whiskey, good results take a little bit of time. This is a good day for folks in Gimli, Manitoba and a good day for people in Ontario too.
Standing up for workers together is always a big win for Team Canada 🇨🇦
There is no place for hate in Manitoba.
This weekend, Shaarey Zedek Synagogue and Habibiz Cafe were targeted with vandalism, graffiti, and threatening messages rooted in antisemitism and anti-Palestinian racism, meant to intimidate communities.
The antisemitic graffiti at Shaarey Zedek was an attack on the Jewish community and on all Manitobans. The threats made to Habibiz Cafe offend all of us as Manitobans and are against what we stand for as a province. When a place of worship or a local family business is targeted, it puts the safety of our province at risk.
We will continue to work with police services and prosecutors to apply the full force of the law, combat hate crimes, and ensure the safety of Manitobans.
Yesterday I joined colleagues in announcing a total of $6.6 million in joint funding to help establish the Innovation Garage at RRC Polytech, in partnership with the Vehicle Technology Centre, the Province of Manitoba, and private-sector partners.
The funding will create more opportunities for students, researchers, and businesses to adopt new technologies, strengthen workforce skills, and catalyze Made-In-Canada innovation, in Winnipeg South Centre and beyond!
