AKINỌMỌAKIN CELEBRATES EID-EL-KABIR WITH MUSLIM COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP, DISBURSES OVER ₦5 MILLION TARGETED SUPPORT ACROSS EKITI NORTH 1 (IKOLE/OYE) FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY
Ikole-Ekiti | Thursday, May 28, 2026 - Following the goodwill message extended to the Muslim Ummah in Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency by Rep. Akintunde Rotimi on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, the AkinỌmỌAkin Constituency Office further provided targeted financial support exceeding ₦5 million to the core leadership of the Muslim community across the constituency.
The intervention was directed at Chief Imams, principal Islamic scholars, and recognised leaders of Muslim organisations across Ikole and Oye Local Government Areas, in furtherance of efforts to strengthen religious leadership structures and support institutions that foster moral guidance, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
While acknowledging that the gesture may not directly benefit every Muslim constituent or supporter across the constituency, Rep. Akintunde Rotimi noted that the intervention is symbolic of the enduring goodwill, appreciation, and solidarity he shares with the Muslim community and the broader constituency.
He further emphasised that beyond seasonal support and symbolic gestures, the collective aspiration of constituents remains sustainable development that works for all people, through improved infrastructure, expanded opportunities, quality education, accessible healthcare, economic empowerment, and policies that advance the common good across every community in Ekiti North 1.
Leaders of the Muslim community who benefited from the intervention expressed appreciation for the gesture and offered prayers for divine guidance, continued strength, and greater accomplishments for the lawmaker in his service to the constituency and the nation.
The lawmaker urged Muslim faithful across Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency to continue to uphold the virtues of peace, unity, tolerance, and selfless service, while praying for sustained progress and prosperity in the constituency, Ekiti State, and Nigeria.
Once again, Eid Mubarak to all Muslim faithful.

Today, as we celebrate Children’s Day under the 2026 theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” my heart is filled with gratitude to God for the precious gift of every child across Ekiti North I (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency and Nigeria at large.
This year’s theme is a clear call to action to ensure that no child is excluded from opportunity, protection, or development. It reminds us that inclusion must be intentional and reflected in how we design education, social support, and community systems.
As a representative of the people, my commitment has always gone beyond words. We remain focused on building a constituency where every child has access to quality education and opportunities for a brighter future, with deliberate emphasis on inclusion so that no child is left behind.
From the ongoing construction of specialised educational and welfare facilities across our constituency, including centres for gifted children, children with special needs, and vulnerable children, to the recent distribution of educational materials to secondary schools, every intervention reflects our determination to invest in our children’s future in a practical and inclusive way.
These efforts reflect our conviction that every child deserves dignity, knowledge, protection, and hope, and that equity in opportunity is essential to sustainable development.
To our dear children, you are not only the leaders of tomorrow, you are the pride, hope, and strength of today. Every dream you carry matters, and every child deserves the chance to flourish in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
On this special day, we also reflect with concern on children across Nigeria who are victims of insecurity, particularly those abducted or separated from their families. It is heartbreaking that innocent children continue to face fear and uncertainty in a nation with great promise.
We therefore call on security agencies and all relevant authorities to intensify efforts to protect our children, secure our schools and communities, and ensure the swift reunification of every abducted child with their loved ones. Every child deserves to grow up free from fear.
To all parents, teachers, caregivers, and all who dedicate themselves to the upbringing and protection of children, I sincerely appreciate your sacrifices. Together, we must continue to build a society where children can dream boldly and flourish fully.
Happy Children’s Day to all our wonderful children.
May you continue to grow in wisdom, good health, peace, and greatness.

Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr., mnipr
I give thanks to God Almighty and sincerely appreciate all stakeholders and members of our great party, the APC in Ekiti North I (Ikole/Oye) federal constituency, for their steadfast support.
I especially thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership and commitment to national development. It has been my honour, as House Spokesman, to support and amplify the progressive policies and programmes of this administration.
I also express my profound appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the leader of our party in the state, for his exceptional leadership and inclusive governance style, which have continued to unite our party and advance meaningful development across Ekiti State. Without his support and guidance, my victory would not have been possible.
I remain deeply grateful to the Senate Leader and Chairman of the Ekiti State National Assembly Caucus, Distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, for his steady guidance and mentorship in the National Assembly, which has been instrumental to my growth, achievements, and effectiveness in legislative service, as well as his invaluable support and contribution to the realization of this victory.
I also remain sincerely grateful to our former Governors and dear leaders, His Excellency Otunba Niyi Adebayo, His Excellency Engr. Segun Oni, and His Excellency Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for their enduring statesmanship, foundational contributions to Ekiti’s development, and continued commitment to the progress of our dear state. I equally appreciate our party leaders at both state and national levels for their guidance and contributions.
I also thank all my eminently qualified co-aspirants for their sportsmanship in a keenly contested primary, as well as my campaign team for their dedication and commitment.
I am deeply honoured and proud to once again fly the banner of our great party, the APC, in the forthcoming general election, and to continue carrying the hopes, aspirations, and collective vision of the good people of Ekiti North I (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency, anchored on purposeful representation, progressive legislation, and sustainable development.
As we move forward, let us remain united and focused behind His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, as we prepare for the June 20, 2026 gubernatorial election and the continued progress and prosperity of Ekiti State.

I am delighted to share my Account of Stewardship as we approach three years in office as the Member representing Ekiti North I (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
This report is structured around The R.O.L.E. Model of Stewardship and Accountability — a framework built on the four core pillars of legislative service:
- R - Representation— being the voice of the people
- O - Oversight — ensuring accountability in governance
- L - Legislation — advancing laws and policies for development
- E - Empowerment — creating opportunities and improving livelihoods
The document reflects an evidence-based account of our work so far, grounded in constitutional responsibility, measurable outcomes, and a steadfast commitment to public service.
Over this period, we have worked to strengthen the voice of our constituency in national discourse, deepen legislative oversight, advance impactful legislative initiatives, and facilitate interventions that promote sustainable growth and opportunity for our people.
While no public officer can satisfy every personal expectation, this report presents a structured reflection of our efforts, challenges, progress, and continuing commitment to servant leadership, with deliberate emphasis on interventions and initiatives designed to impact the greatest number of people rather than a privileged few.
I invite constituents, stakeholders, friends, and observers to review this Account of Stewardship and assess our performance through the lens of clarity, structure, and democratic accountability.
Together, we continue the journey of purposeful representation and shared progress.

ACTIVE !
An essential component of effective representation is ensuring that the voice of Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency is consistently heard on the floor of the House. This can only be achieved through presence and punctuality at plenary sittings, where legislative debates are held, decisions are taken, and attendance is formally recorded through the mandatory signing of the register.
Plenary attendance is not a procedural formality but a core obligation of representation. A representative who is absent cannot speak, intervene, or vote in the interest of the people, and must therefore ensure that personal issues and competing demands are subordinated to the mandate to show up consistently.
I am glad to have upheld this responsibility, recording 96% attendance at plenary sittings from June 2023 to date. This record reflects my continued commitment to accountability, diligence, and service, and to ensuring that the voice of Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) is always present and represented.
More so, I use this opportunity to remind you that your Representative remains active and responsive, always ready to escalate your public petitions and other concerns through the appropriate legislative channels. We have recorded numerous success stories on behalf of constituents, with issues taken up, pursued diligently, and resolved in the interest of justice and fairness.
I encourage you to continue to engage, reach out, and make your voices heard, as representation is a shared responsibility and together we can continue to achieve meaningful outcomes for our constituency.

Happy Workers’ Day
Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and dignity of every Nigerian worker, the backbone of our economy and the driving force behind national development. From our farmers and artisans to teachers, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and young innovators, your daily sacrifices keep our communities moving and our future alive.
As we mark this year’s Workers’ Day, it is important that we move beyond celebration and renew our collective commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our people. This includes expanding access to decent jobs, investing in skills development, and supporting the growth of small businesses and local industries that sustain our economy at the grassroots.
For us in Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye), our focus remains clear and deliberate, to build a constituency where hard work is rewarded, innovation is encouraged, and every individual has a fair chance to thrive.
We understand that sustainable development is rooted in empowering people, and we will continue to advocate for policies and initiatives that protect the welfare, dignity, and aspirations of workers.
The future of our nation will not be shaped by promises alone, but by the productivity, creativity, and determination of its people. As always, we stand with you and remain committed to building a stronger, more inclusive society where no one is left behind.
Happy Workers’ Day, your labour is not in vain.

I warmly congratulate my mentor and benefactor, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode, Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Ekiti State, on his well-deserved re-election for a second term as Chairman of the Forum of Commissioners of Finance of Nigeria.
This renewed mandate is a clear testament to the confidence his colleagues repose in his leadership, intellect, and steady hand. At a time when our nation has been navigating a demanding but necessary phase of fiscal recalibration, he has provided clarity of purpose and strengthened coordination across subnational governments.
Under his guidance, the Forum has played a pivotal role in advancing robust fiscal reforms, strengthening public financial management, promoting transparency, and fostering greater alignment between federal and state fiscal priorities.
His leadership has elevated the quality of discourse among Commissioners of Finance and contributed meaningfully to macroeconomic stability and reform implementation across the country.
Agbaakin’s re-election is therefore not merely a personal milestone; it is an affirmation of his colleagues’ confidence in his leadership and a strong endorsement of continuity, competence, and reform-driven governance.
I wish him continued wisdom, strength, and success as he leads the Forum through the next phase of Nigeria’s fiscal transformation.
I also thank our leader, H.E. Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for providing the enabling platform for Agbaakin's success and national recognition. His commitment to prudent governance and fiscal discipline in Ekiti State has fostered a culture of accountability that continues to inspire this achievement.

On the Upcoming NASS Primaries
As activities leading up to the National Assembly primaries gather momentum, I urge all party faithful not to lose focus on the June 20, 2026 Governorship Election.
While the process of primary elections can be intense and, at times, divisive, we must remain united and manage the process with the utmost sense of responsibility, ensuring that it does not in any way undermine our collective objective of maintaining a common front towards securing a resounding victory for our flag bearer, His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
This is a commitment I have consistently upheld in both my words and actions, and I call on all stakeholders, especially my supporters, to demonstrate the same level of discipline, unity, and dedication.
As we await the official guidelines to be issued by our great party, the APC, in keeping with extant laws, I, as an incumbent Representative, remain fully focused on the task at hand, particularly the urgent need to continue advancing projects and initiatives that improve the lives and livelihoods of our people.
Ultimately, we remain resolute in our faith in God and confident in the record of service He has enabled us to build. With unity, diligence, and a shared sense of purpose, we will continue to move forward, stronger together and committed to the progress of our people.

As we celebrate the joy and victory of Easter, we are reminded of the ultimate sacrifice made on Good Friday and the triumph of hope, redemption, and new beginnings through the resurrection.
Easter is a powerful reminder that every sacrifice made in faith is not in vain. What once seemed lost is restored, what was broken is renewed, and what was uncertain is made victorious. This season calls us to remain steadfast, hopeful, and united as a people.
I also take this opportunity to sincerely appreciate all those who contributed to the success of our 3rd Easter Family Life Thanksgiving Service yesterday. Your presence, support, and dedication made the gathering truly meaningful. A detailed report of the event will be shared shortly.
To the good people of Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency, may this Easter bring peace to your homes, strength to your hearts, and renewed faith in a brighter future for our constituency and our nation.
Let us continue to work together in unity, love, and shared purpose, trusting that our collective efforts will yield lasting progress and development.
Happy Easter. Christ is Risen!

AkinỌmỌAkin Facilitates Correctional Farm Centre in Ipao-Ekiti
I am delighted to share a landmark development for our federal constituency. Following my direct facilitation and advocacy, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has granted Approval in Principle for the establishment of a Correctional Farm Centre in Ipao-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
This approval has been communicated via separate letters to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, and to the Ipao-Ekiti community, addressed to His Royal Majesty, Oba Joseph Ehinmodipin, the Obanla of Ipao-Ekiti.
Why This Is Transformational
The proposed Centre is set to occupy a minimum of 1,500 hectares, making it a major economic and social development initiative for our constituency. Its strategic objectives align with both the Ekiti State Agricultural Transformation Agenda and the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on:
- Food Security: Boosting local and national food production
- Job Creation: Providing employment opportunities for our youth and local contractors.
- Economic Growth: Reducing poverty and stimulating local trade
- Enhanced Security: Strengthening internal security along the Oke Ako, Ipao, Irele axis through deployment of military and paramilitary forces
Correctional Farm Centres: Empowerment through Skills
Unlike traditional prisons, Correctional Farm Centres are specialized facilities that combine custodial services with agricultural training and vocational skills development. Such centres provide inmates with practical, marketable skills in modern farming, livestock management, and agro-processing, preparing them for meaningful employment and self-sufficiency upon reintegration into society.
Across Nigeria, similar centres such as those in Ogbomosho (Oyo State), Agodi (Oyo State), and other locations have successfully equipped inmates with skills that reduce recidivism and promote economic empowerment, demonstrating the transformative potential of this approach.
Strategic Advantage
The proposed Centre falls within the Federal Government’s designated Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ), which already hosts key government and private sector initiatives, including:
- National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA)
- Agbeyewa Farms
- Other commercial and agro-industrial ventures
This strategic location ensures synergy with existing agricultural and industrial operations, enhancing the potential for job creation, economic stimulation, and knowledge transfer.
Context for Ekiti State
Ekiti is currently one of only two states in Nigeria with just one correctional facility, which is overstretched. Other Southwest states, by contrast, have multiple facilities:
1. Ekiti State
- Federal Prison, Ado‑Ekiti (only facility)
2. Lagos State
- Lagos has multiple facilities, including:
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Badagry
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Ikoyi
- Maximum Security Prison, Kirikiri
- Medium Security Prison, Kirikiri
- Kirikiri Women’s Prison
3. Ogun State
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Abeokuta
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Ago‑Iwoye
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Ijebu‑Ode
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Ilaro
- New Maximum Security Prison, Abeokuta
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Shagamu
4. Ondo State
- Federal Female Prison, Ondo State
- Maximum Security Prison, Akure
- Maximum Security Prison, Ondo
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Okitipupa
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Owo
5. Osun State
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Ile‑Ife
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Ilesa
6. Oyo State
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Agodi
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Ogbomosho Farm
- Federal Prison (Medium Security), Oyo
We are not introducing a correctional facility for the sake of it, Ekiti people are among the most law-abiding and peaceful, with one of the lowest crime rates in the country. However, the Ado-Ekiti facility is overstretched,
...
Today, we remember the ultimate sacrifice of love.
Good Friday is a profound reminder that through Christ’s willing sacrifice, laying down His life for humanity, we are granted redemption, reconciled to God through atonement, and made right with Him through justification. His selfless act of love calls us to reflect on His grace and live lives marked by service, humility, and compassion for others.
This day holds special significance for me personally, as I was born on a Good Friday. It reminds me that life is a gift of grace and a call to mirror Christ’s love in our actions, placing the needs of others above our own, embracing forgiveness, and dedicating ourselves to hope, healing, and justice.
May the message of the cross inspire us to embrace redemption, walk in justification, and follow Christ’s example through sacrificial love, service, and steadfast faith.
Wishing all constituents and Christians across Ekiti North 1 and beyond a reflective and blessed Good Friday.

TRIBUTE TO A DISTINGUISHED PATRIOT: CHIEF DR. FRANCIS ADEBAYO DARAMOLA (BABA FAD)
By Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr.
I received with profound sorrow, yet with gratitude to God for a life of extraordinary impact, the news of the passing of Chief Dr. Francis Adebayo Daramola (Baba FAD) at the age of 98. He was an accomplished statesman, a foremost constituent, and one of our forebears in public service who laid the foundation upon which the successor generation continues to build.
Baba FAD was a towering figure whose life exemplified steadfast service to God and country. His contributions to the Church, particularly within the Anglican Communion, stand as a remarkable and enduring legacy. As one of the eldest and founding members of All Saints Anglican Church, Opopogbro, Ado-Ekiti, he played a pivotal role in nurturing the spiritual growth of the congregation and advancing the mission of the Ekiti Diocese. His leadership across numerous church groups reflected not only his deep devotion and humility but also a life entirely dedicated to the work of God.
In public service, among many roles he held over several decades, Baba FAD distinguished himself as a former Chairman of Oye Local Government under the old Ondo State. His tenure was characterized by integrity, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people. He was a man who understood leadership as a sacred responsibility to serve, uplift, and inspire.
He was a highly respected community leader, not only in his hometown of Ire-Ekiti, but across Ekiti, the Southwest region, and beyond, where his influence, wisdom, and dedication to service earned him widespread admiration.
I had the privilege of meeting him on a few occasions, and each encounter left a lasting impression of a man defined by grace, wisdom, and quiet strength. Those of us who admired his longevity, grace, and strength in old age had hoped to witness the celebration of his centenary, but we rejoice nonetheless that he lived a full and remarkable life, leaving a legacy that will endure for generations. His words were thoughtful, his presence reassuring, and his disposition reflective of a life deeply rooted in faith and service.
Baba FAD embodied the very best of Ekiti values, being honourable, principled, and deeply committed to community. He served as a bridge between generations, a custodian of tradition, and a source of wise counsel whose guidance for numerous people who followed after him will resonate for years to come.
He is survived by accomplished children who continue his legacy of service, including my worthy predecessor, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, who represented Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency in the 7th Assembly of the House of Representatives, and whose service continues to reflect the enduring values instilled by their father.
While his passing leaves a profound void, we are comforted by the legacy of a life well lived, dedicated to God, to service to humanity, and to the progress of our society.
On behalf of my family and the good people of Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the Church, and all who were touched by his remarkable life.
May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and grant us all the fortitude to bear this great loss.
Adieu, Baba FAD. Your legacy endures.
