Today, we passed another War Powers Resolution to end Donald Trump’s illegal war in Iran. This reckless war of choice has made life in America less affordable and less safe.

Only 4 Republicans voted with us. The rest voted for more forever wars and higher prices.

The American people are tired of Trump’s illegal war with Iran. Costs are rising, and troops are being killed – this has gone too far, and it must end NOW.

I just voted NO on the annual defense spending bill.

The bill allocates $1.15 trillion of our taxpayer dollars to continue paying for Trump’s illegal war. As costs skyrocket here at home, House Republicans are choosing to leave America behind and bankroll more forever wars.

House Republicans just forced through their short term plan to fund the government past the midterm elections.

Their funding bill had no input from Congressional Democrats and leaves open the door for providing even more money to Border Patrol. Also, it fails to adequately fund public housing agencies and cuts money for wildland fire suppression operations–even as wildfires burn through parts of Colorado. Of course, I voted NO on this sham bill.

In Colorado and western states, we are experiencing a chronic water shortage.

Data centers use millions of gallons of water to operate. As we manage data centers popping up everywhere, water usage needs to be a forethought, not an afterthought.

The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed nations globally.

That’s why I’m proud to once again support a bill that’s a crucial part of the Momnibus Act and will help us save moms’ lives, especially Black moms. We have the tools to help end these preventable maternal deaths — it’s time we do so.

Today, the House passed my bill, the DeOndra Dixon INCLUDE Project Act.

This bipartisan bill is critical — it will boost research and accelerate our understanding of Down syndrome and many co-occurring conditions. By advancing this legislation, we are showing our commitment to improving health outcomes for our friends and neighbors with Down syndrome.

Last night, Donald Trump once again aired his lies and grievances about the 2020 election, which he lost.

He touted his so-called booming economy, which is crushing Americans with skyrocketing costs.

And he boasted about lowering health care prices, after he and his GOP allies kicked tens of millions of Americans off their health insurance.

It’s no wonder he is solely focused on jamming his anti-democratic voting bill through Congress as quickly as possible. How pathetic.

Today, House Republicans once again forced through Trump’s anti-democratic bill, the SAVE Act.

I voted HELL NO once again.

Congress should be doing everything in its power to make voting easier and more accessible, not appeasing Trump’s election year wish to restrict whose voice is heard at the ballot box.

The Cure Hepatitis C Act is our opportunity to lower costs and save lives for the nearly 4 million Americans who have the disease.

I am proud to have introduced this bipartisan bill that will help eliminate Hepatitis C through accessible testing and treatment.

With everything going on right now–a rogue and lethal ICE agency, an affordability crisis, and an illegal war with Iran–House Republicans just jammed through a bill to make Daylight Savings Time permanent.

The American public is divided on this – from farmers to educators and even the medical community. It’s also unclear what is the best way to solve the issue. And while nobody likes turning their clocks back and forth each year, surely the right answer isn’t Donald Trump and House Republicans choosing a national time standard their base supports. 

This is a serious issue that deserves a full debate, and whatever way forward we choose must be backed by science.

BREAKING: I just introduced bipartisan legislation that would help eradicate hepatitis C in the U.S.

If the Cure Hepatitis C Act becomes law, it would have the greatest positive impact to public health of any legislation passed this Congress. This virus is curable, but we must have a nationwide test-and-treat program to ensure those who are impacted can get the care they need.

I’ll be working alongside my colleagues to bring this bill to the Floor for a vote as soon as possible.

Despite Trump’s stubborn refusal to sign it, the historic housing bill we passed out of Congress with broad bipartisan support is now law. This generational investment will make housing more affordable for families in Denver and across the country.

Trump may deny there’s an affordability crisis, but the American people feel it. And, this time, Congress acted cooperatively to meet the moment.

First, Trump eviscerated the FEC. Now, he’s cleaned house at the bipartisan Election Assistance Commission. On top of all this, he is hell bent on jamming the voter-suppressing SAVE Act through Congress.

The American people see what Trump is doing, and these coordinated attacks on democracy cannot go unchecked.

Congress passed a War Powers Resolution to stop Trump’s illegal war with Iran. Despite the pomp & circumstance for the so-called peace agreement signing, Trump has forced us back into conflict.

This forever war is hurting our economy, raising prices at the pump and in the stores. We must return to a diplomatic resolution to end this war, and Trump must adhere to the War Powers Resolution NOW.

Donald Trump carelessly called Japan the “Islamic Republic of Japan” and accused them of attacking us. This isn’t a slip up that can be ignored.

Although SCOTUS upheld birthright citizenship, we cannot overlook its despicable decision to greenlight bigotry against a vulnerable population and allow dark money to flood our politics.

These decisions will only embolden the Trump administration’s assault on trans youth and threaten the integrity of our elections.

I will keep fighting to protect trans youth and advance legislation to amend our Constitution so that we can reform campaign finance.

The Supreme Court has affirmed what we all know: birthright citizenship is a Constitutional right.

For Trump to nullify the citizenship of countless Americans was an illegal attempt to destroy the promise of what it is to be an American, and he lost.
