Before 9/11 security screeners were paid by the airlines - lowest paid entry level job in the airport‼️. We created a professional well trained workforce - the TSA. But now R’s are refusing to pay them. It is creating chaos for the traveling public and security risks with fatigued and un paid screeners.
Before 9/11 screeners paid for by airlines were the lowest entry level job in the airport - Mc Donalds was a step up. Now we have a professional well trained workforce but the WH and R’s need to agree to the Democrats proposal to pay them , USCG and other non ICE Homeland employees. The Dems just want ICE to follow the Constitution - judicial warrants before breaking down doors, no masks and officer id.
🤔. Drumpfh says higher oil prices because of his war make a lot of money for the US. Not for most US citizens who do not own stock in EXXON or other major domestic producers but for the industry and their CEO’s who supported his campaign while consumers get gouged at the pump.
😂 seriously you were just fired for incompetence which is something extraordianary to accomplish in this administration of dunces. Congratulations upon your demotion to the non existent job as “Special Envoy” to a non existent agency. Will you refund the taxpayers the 200 million you spent on self promoting ads?
ROTOR mandates ADSB-IN for all aircraft operating in airspace where ADSB- OUT is required. The above TA states plainly that ALERT does not follow that recommendation. Affected aircraft must just be “capable” of receiving IN. That means anyone flying in that airspace GA or 121 or 135 can fly there without IN as they are all “capable” with an IPAD or? FAA needs a clear mandate!
Today Republicans House Committee staff said NTSB supports ALERT. The NTSB can not lobby but they have pointed out myriad deficiencies in ALERT that would delay or prevent ADSB-in through bureaucratic processes without defined end in addition to many other NTSB recommendations that ALERT does not address. When we did the MAX tragedy we simply mandated that the specified recommendations be implemented ALERT does not do that.
The special interests who support the “ALERT ACT” to derail the House ROTOR ACT vote are lying when they say “ALERT” fully implements NTSB recommendations. IT DOES NOT‼️ it will only require at a future date covered aircraft have advanced TCAS ACAS-XA not ADSB in as recommendeed by the NTSB.
When I was on the Aviation Subcommittee in 2010 we mandated ADSB out be installed by 1/1/2020 and ADSB in by 1/1/31. The ALERT Act has no mandate for ADSB in which is the most effective way to prevent mid air collisions especially in congested airspace.
The so called ALERT Act Hr 7613 is a very transparent attempt to prevent the much more comprehensive and effective ROTOR act from passing the House. The ROTOR ACT passed the US Senate unanimously. The “ALERT” act just introduced and not heard in committee is very long on process creates multiple committees with lengthy deliberation processes - followed perhaps by NPRM’s another black hole of lengthy process. It fails to address the most effective proven way to prevent mid air collisions - implement the very long delayed mandate for ADSB in. Special interest aviation groups do not want to have to install ADSB. American has installed on over 300 planes at a cost of less than 50,000 each. Not a big stretch for the RJ’s who oppose and Business jets who oppose and GA could get by with an IPAD version.
The total proposed budget for the USCG with its essential national security mission and also Civilian search and rescue and drug smuggling interdiction is less than 1/2 of what DHS is going to spend - 38billion to buy and rehabilitate warehouses to imprison immigrants almost all of whom are not serious criminals 🤔
“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final- most essential edict!” George Orwell,”1984”. He was just off by 42 years.
The free market price. US does not need it as we are a net oil exporter. Only a few US refineries in the US can process this very low grade expensive oil - Chevron whose CEO has been urging Trump on this effort and Paul Singer who was heavily involved in an effort to seize CITGO refinery assets. Unless they get the oil at below production cost they will lose money. But Trump has said he will seize the oil and determine the price and how it is sold. 🤔
Let’s pencil out Venezuela: Taking out Maduro was about Drug smuggling killing US Citizens. OK great tactical removal by our Military and Intelligence folks “only” 80+ killed on Venezuelan side. Then Oops we just continued the “Narco State” by blessing his hand picked VP - former head of Narco Intelligence services. Ok Then not about narcotics😳 but oil‼️. Venezuelan oil is the lowest grade heavy - like Canadian tar sands. It’s break even market price with existing not new infrastructure -billions needed is $80 per bbl - $20 above
🤔 so the former “president of Honduras”was pardoned for. Smuggling 400 tons to the US famously saying he wanted “ to stuff cocaine up the nose of the gringos” while the US terminates survivors or “ maybe drug boats “that were not headed to the US 🤔
RE the Kristie Gnome video in violation of the Hatch Act to be shown at airport check points blaming Democrats for any delays. 🤔. There is A Democrat sponsored bill to pay Air Traffic controllers from the 18 billion dollar Airport Improvement Trust Fund. If “Speaker” Johnson would let the House come into session that problem could be solved. Also President Trump has ordered the Pentagon to pay the troops he could do the same for the beleaguered TSA workers but they would rather play politics.
Rep Hoyle is absolutely correct. “Speaker” Johnson has the House out of session for partisan political reasons. While Sec Duffy warn of delays and safety issues with forced to work without pay Air Traffic controllers the solution is pending in legislation introduced in the house pay them out of Airport Improvement Trust Fund which had a balance of $18.14 billion on Jan 1st Paying ATC during a shutdown would be a tiny fraction of that balance - well worth it to keep travelers safe and avoid massive delays.
