.@VP: "One of the things we're proudest of in the Trump Administration is that we've seen a massive reduction in backlogs for veterans who are calling the VA to get the treatment and the benefits they deserve."
@SecVetAffairs: "When we stepped in from the previous administration, we had 260,000 backlog claims, over 125 days. I'm here to tell you — historic lows."
I promised President Trump we’d put Veterans first, and as your Secretary, we're doing just that.
From 260,000 backlog claims over 125 days to under 70,000- a 74% drop. Veterans deserve results, and we’re delivering. 🇺🇸
In 2012, my first congressional race was a hard‑fought primary against a tough opponent named Martha Zoller and I’m a better public servant today because of her.
Even after that fierce contest, Martha and I stayed friends and she definitely kept me accountable to the 9th district. When Martha came back to WDUN, she welcomed me onto her show to talk about what was shaping North Georgia and how ordinary people, armed with conviction and hope, could change their communities.
Politics looks very different today than it did back then, but the lessons Martha taught us still matter: show up, tell the truth, listen to your neighbors, and love this place we call home.
Gainesville, and all of North Georgia, are stronger because Martha lent her voice, her courage, and her heart to this community, and we are deeply grateful for the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all: claiming the right to discriminate against the very people who give you the freedom to operate your own business. I will always stand with our Veterans and Law Enforcement!

Nothing is more perilous than to be on the cutting edge of change. No matter what our critics say, @DeptVetAffairs is changing to be the best it can be, and we’re proud to be working with @NCHVorg to improve the way we help homeless Veterans.
.@SecVetAffairs on tomorrow night's @Freedom250 National Memorial Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery:
"Memorial Day is a time for those who did not come home... It will be telling the story of what they did, and tomorrow night will be a very special time."
Today we honored the names etched into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial through the humble act of washing the wall. It’s our way of saying welcome home and remembering their sacrifice. It’s also a reminder to those in the future, that if you don’t step up as well, this freedom we have, is not there.
I’m tired of hearing about what we GIVE to Veterans. They’re not given anything. Veterans have EARNED every bit of their benefits the minute they raised their right hand!
We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.
VA employees are the greatest in the world, but the successes they achieve every day at @DeptVetAffairs are rarely acknowledged. I reminded Congress that our employees have worked tirelessly to make healthcare more accessible, lower wait times, and deliver benefits faster than ever. Veterans are seeing the change and I’m proud to be part of this team.
.@SecVetAffairs: "VHA just got to the point to where... the leadership structure was not sustainable for the veterans... the local hospitals, the local clinics will have the ability to help the veteran that walks through the door. That's the metric that we use."
Political grandstanders like @SenDuckworth will never admit the fact that @DeptVetAffairs is vastly improved under President Trump, providing Veterans more health care - and more health care choices - than ever before.
