Our government is using facial recognition technology to track us, including ICE and CBP who have used it to target immigrants and people of color.
We need a moratorium on our government’s use of this technology.

It was a busy week in Seattle! Here are some of my highlights:
First, I joined the ribbon cutting for the Pinehurst Station in North Seattle! This station will ease the commutes of thousands of people in our community. It was amazing to see this project come to fruition – years ahead of schedule!
Next, I met with residents at Aljoya Thornton Place in Northgate to discuss their priorities and to share what I’m working on in Congress. I thank them for inviting me for this conversation and for showing up and engaging!
Finally, I got to speak with incredibly bright students at @UWCSE and view some of their amazing doctoral projects! As the Trump administration dismantles our places of learning and limits pathways for students to study here, I remain committed to ensuring international students can stay and contribute to this country.
3.5 million immigrants are projected to lose legal status by the end of 2028.
That’s $79 billion in lost economic contributions and more than a million U.S. citizen kids who will be living with someone who has lost status.
Republicans don’t give a damn about legal immigration.
What’s fake is Trump’s promise to lower costs.
He might not want to believe it, but polling shows that 82% of Americans disapprove of how he is handling the cost of living. Between tariffs, forever wars, and cutting healthcare, he has massively failed working people.
NEW POD: I sat down with Emmy-winning journalist and founder of Apne Aap, Ruchira Gupta, who was a close friend and colleague of Gloria Steinem.
This is a wonderful conversation that highlights Gloria’s wisdom and how we all can carry on her legacy.

Good news: Wilber Garces Perez finally had surgery to remove the bullet that was in his back for 11 days.
It took far too long, and it's more proof of ICE cruelty. But we kept up the pressure, and Wilber got the care he needed.
Speaking up for our neighbors works.
Gandhi has profoundly affected my life and I've studied his principles of Satyagraha, adherence to truth and nonviolent resistance.
Today, on Gandhi Jayanti, let us celebrate Gandhiji and continue to fight nonviolently for the freedom of the least amongst us — for ALL of us.
At its core, the AI Charter is about putting the public, not billionaires or monopolies, in control of AI's future. Learn more about the National AI Charter framework: https://t.co/zK7EE6yIPx
Big Tech is building AI empires with Americans' data, content, and work, while answering to no one. My National AI Charter framework changes that: AI companies either agree to the public's terms or get shut down.🧵
As long as the damage costs less than the profits, AI companies will keep taking reckless risks. The AI Charter would flip those incentives, holding companies and executives strictly liable for lawbreaking, with loss of charter and criminal penalties for repeat offenders.
Today, some of the changes in the Big Bad Betrayal Bill are now taking effect.
In Washington state, that means over 11,000 people are losing access to Apple Health.
This is cruelty for the sake of cruelty. Democrats will reverse these devastating cuts.
With a National AI Charter, AI companies are required to comply with federal standards that prevent the release of risky models, stealing data through surveillance, exploiting workers, and causing serious harm.
If they don’t agree or comply, they get shut down.
