It's not that they ever dismissed the people that cheer them on, but Motoki isn't someone to say things like forever lightly. Read the lyrics for their songs over the years, and that's just not something he believed in; more of a 'nothing lasts'. I'm glad that's changing slowly.
Brand New has a lot to unpack. It's a song that feels busy musically (especially in the chorus), but as expected, lyrically it works great both commercially and within the worldview of Motoki Ohmori. That guy who doesn't feverishly sing about love or eternity sure has grown.
I don't think anyone will understand the depth of it if you haven't been following along with the band's journey for a while. But coupled with their wholehearted acceptance of their fans' love and the desire to continue on together at their last live show, it says a lot.
We interviewed Aoi Yuki and Takeo Otsuka and chatted about #TheApothecaryDiaries character dynamics, the infamous frog scene, and more! #薬屋のひとりごと#AX2026

Duolingo isn't a standalone tool for language learning. At most, it can help you nail pronunciation, plus a few hundred words and basic phrases. To go further, you need Duolingo plus something else. Fortunately, there are many great resources for learning Japanese.
@chike_writes I think it’s just because I have watched some tremendous live action from series much more suited to making that transition, so to me it’s more about picking what works. But I hope someday one of those shonen to live action will surprise me!
The busy summer period at work is starting, so although I wanted to get some stuff done today I’m trying to take it a little easy and chill. It’s always hard to juggle everything I want to do in the summer because I’m constantly battling being tired, but I’ll do my best.
@chike_writes Personally I find that the fantastical series like this just don’t transition well to live action, especially when Japan is involved. They end up either staying too true to the manga to their detriment or getting wildly off track, neither of which do any good.
"Mushoku Tensei only appeals to degenerate loser men who fantasize about having a harem"
Me, a female fan: Um...
I mean it's not like I love everything they put into the story (in fact I am pretty disappointed with how some things were handled), but it's still an interesting story and got me emotional sometimes and has great production. So idk man, I think reducing it to some gross power fantasy is unfair. There is a lot of substantive artistry there too. We can have nuance with this.
@ColLaurus I felt like in the light novel a lot more time was spent on both Rindo and Nadeshiko, particularly showing Rindo’s mental state. The episode dedicated to Nadeshiko’s rescue was fantastic, but the build up to that was nowhere near as strong for me in the anime.
