As COP16 and COP29 focus on urgent climate priorities like greening infrastructure and resilient communities, one of the biggest polluters—fashion—remains sidelined. Despite its environmental footprint, the industry’s challenges and solutions are barely on the radar. 👕🌎
Solutions like Design-for-Disassembly offer a significant waste reduction at the end of life of textile products. By embracing circular solutions, the textile sector can transition to net-zero and align with initiatives like the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action.
📢 "Ecomaison is working with Belgian start-up Resortecs and two major bedding groups, Adova Group and Cofel Groupe, to replace the sewing threads on mattress tops with new threads that would facilitate recycling by making it easier to separate materials." 🤩
Resortecs' Latest Report 📢 Scaling Recycling Efficiency for the EU's Sustainability Goals
The revised ESPR package is raising the bar on recycled content across the EU. Yet, a significant challenge persists: limited access to high-quality recycled materials.

#ReportAlert 📢 Efficient pre-processing for affordable recycled textiles
The EU is advancing its sustainability agenda through the revised ESPR package, setting high standards for recycled content targets across EU countries. 👕♻️
There is, however, a limited availability of high-quality recycled feedstockto achieve those targets. Mono-material products contribute only 4-5% of recycled material feedstock while multi-material products are not utilized efficiently due to disruptors blocking recycling. ⚠️
