Who Is True Israel?
I believe most people, fail to realize the Church IS Israel! Let's look to Stephen, in Acts where he literally calls the Israelites, the CHURCH.
Acts 7:38
his is he, that was in the *church* in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us
As you can see, it clearly says the "church" was in the wilderness. The word used throughout the OT for congregation/assembly in Hebrew(qahal) is virtually the same (in terms of definition) as the Greek word (ekklesia) later used in the NT for church. It's just an assembly of people - and in context, specifically those "called out ones" gathered together under YHWH. The definition of the word used here in Acts 7 is EXACTLY the same as the word used throughout the New Testament for the "church". (Refer to 1st Picture)
Your run of the mill Dispensationalist however believes the "church" began in Acts 2. Yes, it did begin at Pentecost(Shavuot) - but it was the FIRST Pentecost at Mt. Sinai, not the one in the 1st Century! In Romans 11:11-27, Paul teaches that when we believe in Yeshua, we are grafted in to the cultivated olive tree - the ORIGINAL church (Israel). (Refer to 2nd Picture)
Ephesians 2:12-13
That at that time ye were without Christ, **being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise,** having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Far off from what? The commonwealth of Israel and the covenant of promise given to them.
@theseedstruggle@TemosdnaH Blasphemy. Exodus 12:49, Levitucs 19: 33-37 , Numbers 15:15-16, Deuteronomy 29:10-13 , Isaiah 56:5-7 , Galatians 3:7 Anybody, regardless of origin, that keeps the commandments of the Most High, IS HIS REMNANT.
@Matthew1584681 1 Samuel 15:22 (KJV):
"And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."
@Matthew1584681 2 Chronicles 30: 10-13, which describes how King Hezekiah sent messengers to gather the people of Israel to celebrate Passover in Jerusalem. Because many were unable to come to Jerusalem due to being far away or unclean, they kept the feast in a different way.
@Matthew1584681 YHWH wants the feast to be a celebration for Him. When you have to go the tabernacle, out of the city, it draws you closer to Him. Isn't that whole purpose of "church"? He goes on to say, coming of the cities, coming to "church" will keep you from going astray.
@Matthew1584681 Sukkot specifically all about leaving the House, getting ready for your New House. It's not uncommon for God to want us to separate ourselves from the "World" to draw closer unto him.
