One of the coolest things the Rose Bowl does is have the broadcast booth select the players of the game. Wanted to give it originally to the ENTIRE IU OL but when told that couldn’t happen I thought Pat really embodied the OL dominance for 60 minutes and should be the player of the game. And then to watch that moment when he found out was one of my favorite moments of the year. 🌹🥹

You absolutely can coach/lead chemistry…if…IF…you have people that are receptive to it. Recruiting the right people. It’s both. You have to have the right players/staff in place. And you have to have a coach/leader that prioritizes it. It’s true in sports and business.

Even with all the outlandish talent and crazy statistics, I think this might be my favorite characteristic of this Michigan team. When Howard Eisley Jr drained the first bucket of his career the starters absolutely lose it. And who reacts the most? Super star Yaxel Lendeborg, who could be sitting there sulking bc he was only given the opportunity to score 8 points. The selflessness of this team has been on full display during this legendary stretch of basketball.

I’d love to give Dusty May all the credit but I’m not sure you can coach chemistry like this. Perhaps recruiting the right personalities makes a difference but at the end of the day the players (especially the leaders) mold the culture of a team.

The sky is the limit for this team. They are easy to root for. Go Blue!
